For several weeks I have been hearing the Holy Spirit speak to me to pursue peace and I knew it was a word for me personally, but the more I leaned into what He was speaking, I knew it was also a word for the Body of Christ.
Today, hear the word of the Lord , “As far as it depends on you, pursue peace with all men.” (Romans 12:18)
Peace will be the boundary God uses to separate what was permitted from what was appointed.
To pursue peace this year will require courage.
It will require discernment.
And for many, it will require letting go.
Some relationships cannot go where God is taking you, not because there is hatred, but because there is no peace.
Some seasons must end, not because they were evil, but because they have expired.
Some ministries, assignments, and connections must be released, not in offense, but in obedience.
Peace will be the witness that tells you when it is time.
But please hear me, pursuing peace does not mean silence.
It means speaking truth without venom.
It means refusing to partner with chaos.
Pursuing peace does not mean becoming a doormat.
It means you are secure enough to walk away without needing the last word.
Pursuing peace does not mean you have lost your fire.
It means your fire has been purified.
There is a holy fire that does not scream, strive, or scorch indiscriminately.
It burns with precision.
It warms what God is healing and consumes only what He has judged.
Peace and fire are not enemies, peace is what keeps the fire holy.
Peace can still confront, but it confronts in love.
Peace can still correct, but it does so with clean hands and a pure heart.
Peace can still be bold, but it moves from humility, not insecurity.
The Lord says He is removing His people from unnecessary wars.
Many have been exhausted not because of obedience, but because of entanglement.
This is the year to lay down battles God never assigned you to fight.
As far as it concerns you… your heart, your words, your posture… pursue peace.
What others choose is not your responsibility.
Your obedience is.
Those who choose peace will walk with clarity.
They will carry authority without striving and influence without force.
Doors will open that no argument could have unlocked.
Favor will rest on those who refused to be offended and chose to be aligned.
This year, peace will protect you.
Peace will guide you.
Peace will keep you in step with the Spirit.
Pursue peace and let God deal with the rest.
