If you’re wondering whether group therapy could help your teen, you’re in the right place!

A good group isn’t about putting teens on the spot, but it’s more about giving them a place to feel understood, practice real-life skills, and build confidence alongside peers who are working on similar things.

If you want details for my next teen group, join the waitlist or DM me the word GROUP and I’ll send info!

Friday Favorites 🌿 Let Grow - letgrow.org

One of the most overlooked ways to support kids’ mental health → independence.

It’s so natural to want to protect, help, and step in — especially when kids are struggling. But anxiety often decreases when kids and teens have more opportunities to try things on their own, problem-solve, and build confidence through real-life experiences.

That’s why I appreciate platforms like Let Grow, which encourage age-appropriate independence and help shift the focus from protection to capability. letgrow.org

For teens especially, building independence is closely tied to confidence, identity, and emotional resilience.

It’s not about doing everything perfectly — it’s about slowly giving space for growth.

What’s one small way you’ve encouraged independence in your child?

I've never fit the mold. And if I’m being honest here? I'm really proud of that. 💛

I don't do things just because "that's how it's always been done." I think what has helped me not just “fit into a mold,” is because I ask questions. I push back, kindly.

And because of that, it has helped me create space for people who feel like they don't quite fit in.

This is what I want to shout from the rooftop!

You don't have to fit society's expectations to live a meaningful, fulfilling life.

In my therapy practice, you get to be you with no apologies, no masks, and no pretending.

Whether you're a teen who doesn't fit the "popular" mold or a mom who's tired of trying to be "perfect", let’s chat.

You belong here….exactly as you are.

DM me YOU and I’ll help get you on the books for your first session!

Friday Favorites: The NEX Playground 🎮

This one has been such a hit in our house lately.

I’m always thinking about how to balance screen time in a way that still supports connection and wellbeing — and this feels like a really fun middle ground. Movement, laughter, and time together, all wrapped into something that still has that “video game” appeal.

It’s a reminder that not all screen time has to feel isolating. When it includes movement and shared experiences, it can actually support mood, connection, and overall mental health.

And honestly… we’ve had so much fun with it.

What are your favorite ways to make screen time feel more connected?

03/31/2026

I daily need a reminder of this… who’s with me! 🤚

I used to think asking for help was weakness. That I had to do everything on my own to prove I was capable and prove my worth.

But the best advice I ever received was this:

You can't do it all. And you were never meant to.

We are wired for connection, community, AND support.

Trying to do it all alone doesn't make you strong… it actually just makes you exhausted.

So if you're reading this and feeling burnt out, overwhelmed, or like you're barely keeping your head above water:

✅ It's okay to ask for help.

✅ It's okay to set boundaries.

✅ It's okay to admit you can't do it all.

You're not failing. You're being human.

And if you need support navigating stress, burnout, anxiety, or just life, that's what I'm here for.

DM if you’re ready to start working through those thought patterns.

Ask yourself, “what is one thing I can let go of that isn’t “mission critical” to my day today?”

Friday Favorites: Outdoors Edition 🌿

Getting outside is one of my favorite ways to reset — mentally and physically.

Fresh air, movement, and time away from screens can help reduce stress, improve mood, and create space for your mind to slow down. It’s not just about exercise — it’s about giving your nervous system a break and reconnecting with the present moment.

I also love that being outdoors can be a hobby, not just another task. Something you enjoy, not something you have to do perfectly.

If you’re local, some of my favorite spots to explore are Alcove Springs, Konza Prairie, & Tuttle Creek — but even a short walk outside can make a difference. I've even gotten into geocaching as a way to spend more time outside with a 'mission'.

What’s your favorite place to get outside? 🌿

Some of my favorite “coping skills” are not complicated at all.

One of the most grounding parts of my day is my morning coffee.

Not because it makes me more productive (though I’m not mad about that). But because it is predictable and engages my senses. It gives my body a moment to exhale and say, “Okay… I’m here.”

The smell when I first pour it and the warmth of the cup in my hands makes me slow down, even if it is only for 30 seconds.

That is the difference between a routine and a ritual.

✅ A routine is about getting things done.

☕ A ritual is about meaning. It is about how something feels in your body.

Rituals matter because they can help regulate your nervous system. They create little moments of calm and predictability, especially in busy or stressful seasons.

If you want to build a ritual of your own, start by noticing what already brings you comfort.

Ask yourself:

What helps me slow down?

What engages my senses?

What feels grounding or meaningful?

It does not have to be big.

Tea. Stepping outside for fresh air. Stretching. Journaling. A few deep breaths before you open your laptop.

Small, intentional moments can change how you move through the whole day.

03/23/2026

Feeling a little off lately? You’re not crazy, your nervous system might just be craving a very simple cue: daylight.

Sunlight helps your body know, “It’s daytime, we’re safe,” which can support:

✅ A steadier circadian rhythm (your internal clock)

✅ More regulated sleep/wake cycles

✅ Mood and emotional steadiness, even in small doses

If you’re in a particularly challenging season, try one gentle reset this week:

☀️ get outside within 30–60 minutes of waking (even 2–5 minutes counts)

☀️ step into midday light if you can

☀️ keep your sleep/wake times as consistent as possible

☀️ build in extra rest + lower expectations during transitions

No perfection needed…just small doses of light, repeated.

Want help figuring out when to fit this into your real-life schedule? DM me SUNLIGHT and we’ll map it out together.

Friday Favorite: The Anxious Generation📚🌿

This is one of those books that really stays with you.

It gave me language for something many parents are noticing but can’t always explain — how different childhood looks and feels today, and how that’s showing up in kids’ emotional wellbeing.

I appreciate how it invites reflection without judgment. It’s not about fear or blame, but about awareness, balance, and being more intentional with the role technology plays in our lives and our kids’ lives.

I also love that there’s a companion book, The Amazing Generation, created specifically for kids and teens — helping them better understand themselves and their relationship with the digital world.

If you’re navigating parenting in this generation, this one is worth adding to your list.

What are your thoughts on technology and kids right now?

Friday Favorites #4 Plants🌿

One of my favorite simple supports for mental wellness: plants.

Bringing plants into a space can help create a calming environment, reduce stress, and encourage moments of mindfulness. Caring for something living can also bring a small sense of purpose and connection to our daily routines.

I love the sensory experience of plants — the light through the leaves, the texture, the slow and steady growth. They’re also a gentle reminder that growth takes time and doesn’t always happen all at once.

You don’t need a green thumb to enjoy plants. Even one small plant can bring life and calm into a space.

Do you have a favorite plant in your home? 🌿
