Recently, Maggie L. Burks, MA, CF-SLP, and Brooke A. Thompson, PTA, from Daviess Community Hospital’s CORE Center had the opportunity to speak with a Twin Rivers CTE- G/S Health Sciencesclass about careers in speech and physical therapy. They shared what a typical day looks like, what led them to their careers, and answered thoughtful questions from students exploring their own paths in healthcare.

Twin Rivers plays an important role in preparing students across southwest Indiana for future careers, and we are proud to be part of those conversations. Opportunities like this help students see what’s possible—and help us continue building strong connections within the communities we serve.

Cari is a licensed and registered occupational therapist who provides personalized therapy focused on helping adult and geriatric patients regain independence and return to the activities that matter most in their daily lives. She brings valuable clinical experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and post-acute care settings, supporting patients recovering from orthopedic, neurological, and cognitive conditions.

We’re pleased to share that the CORE Center in Washington and CORE Center at North Daviess in Odon will be open tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, with normal operating hours.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the many individuals and crews who worked diligently to clear roadways and improve travel conditions. Your efforts help make it possible for our patients to access care and for our staff to safely return to serving our communities.
