Mountainside Physical Therapy and Lakeside Manual Physical Therapy Clients
As the COVID 19 virus continues to make its way into our periphery, our staff will be continuing to implement new safety precautions to help keep us all stay as safe and healthy as possible. So far we are all very lucky to be living in environments that are less conducive to a rapid widespread infection like our neighbors living in the Washington, DC or New York City metropolitan areas. However, it is important to safeguard, and limit our exposure, especially to people who have not been self-isolating or limiting their exposure. Therefore, we ask those that have been traveling outside of our immediate area to stay home and self-isolate. We will be implementing the use of masks, protective clothing, extra sanitizing and trying to minimize contact between clients. We are grateful to those individuals who have helped us to make these supplies available. We don’t want to alarm you, just protect you. In an effort to minimize the number of people in our waiting areas, we have some seating available outside of our building (for use if weather cooperates) or you may call us from your cell phone upon arrival to our office and we will send someone to assist you in entering our office to sanitize and begin your physical therapy treatment. Please wash or disinfect your hands upon arrival.
Please do not attend therapy if you are sick, we will waive cancellation fees at this time.
Please do not attend physical therapy if you feel that you are at high risk for complications associated with COVID 19, have been in close contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID 19 or someone who has been exposed to COVID 19. Remember we need to protect the patients who need to continue to come to physical therapy, while prioritizing your best interests.
Your health and wellbeing continues to be our most important mission so here are some helpful suggestions:
Wash your hands often.
• Drink warm or room temperature water frequently.
• Gargle frequently with salt water.
• The WHO initially recommended using acetaminophen instead of ibuprofen to help reduce fever and aches and pains related to this coronavirus infection, but now states that either acetaminophen or ibuprofen can be used. Rapid changes in recommendations create uncertainty. Since some doctors remain concerned about NSAIDs, it still seems prudent to choose acetaminophen.
• Get plenty of rest.
• Go outdoors (while continuing to maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from anyone).
• Stay in close contact with your friends and family via telephone, social medical and video conferencing and try to maintain a positive attitude.
I will be working on ways to bring more people TRE tension and trauma relief training (check our websites for information on TRE). Most of all I hope that we can all work together to prevent the spread of this disease and stay healthy.
Sincerely,
Anne WIlliams
