At Mercy’s recent Accommodation for Success event, we turned the tables with a reverse job fair that celebrated these unique strengths. The day also featured practical sessions on inclusive hiring and training, along with powerful first-hand stories from a lived-experience panel. We brought together workforce boards, disability support agencies and inclusive employers for a day of learning, connection and inspiration!

Mercy caregiver Kim Henderson knows this firsthand. When her uncle's screening came back positive, her father and her other uncle got screened and came back positive, as well. All three got surgery and gained more precious years with the people they love.

Hospitals are filled with moments of healing and hope, but sometimes those moments come from the community itself. A new family was surprised with an anonymous gift of baby essentials and words of encouragement, a simple gesture that made a lasting impact!

Born at just 22 weeks, Vivien's journey began with uncertainty and heartbreak after the loss of her twin brother. Through every scare and setback in the NICU, her parents never stopped pouring love and hope into her. Today, she's a charismatic 8-year-old with a story that inspires.

Vivien's mom, Stephanie, shares: "We weren’t just another patient, we could tell that everyone truly cared! We felt more like family by the care and love that was provided. We only have the doctors and nurses to thank for not giving up on her or us! She is now 8 years old with no physical deficits!"

Hello, Farmington!

We're honored to expand our service to Farmington and the entire St. Francois County community with the addition of primary care, orthopedics, spine and pain management, integrated medicine and therapy services, imaging services and convenient care clinics. We welcomed all these new caregivers and locations with today's blessing and ribbon cutting.

Our amazing Amy Korte, environmental services tech, was recognized with the Tulip Award for going above and beyond.

During tornado warnings patients are moved into the hallway. In the midst of a recent weather event, Amy noticed a confused patient in the hallway and sat beside her to keep her company. Amy talked with the patient in the hallway for the length of the tornado warning. She was kind, compassionate and understanding with the patient.

The nominator said, "This was above and beyond her job duties. We were super thankful for Amy that night on the 6th Floor. Keep up the amazing work!"

The Tulip Award honors and celebrates clinical support co-workers for the exceptional care they provide in support of our nursing staff.

Mercy unequivocally condemns all violence and violent rhetoric. Our prayers are with Charlie Kirk’s family and loved ones after today’s horrifying act of violence.

Tonight, we were made aware of unacceptable statements made by a social media user whose profile says she’s a nurse at Mercy. We reviewed our employee records and can confirm this person does not, and has never, worked at Mercy. Mercy would never tolerate any employees celebrating violence, which would be a clear violation of not only our employee policies but also our mission as a healing ministry of Jesus.

Shout out to all who attended the Alzheimer's Association Greater Missouri Chapter Walk to End Alzheimer's event last weekend in Washington. Our caregivers served as the First Aid providers on site and the Mercy Washington Walkers helped raise more than $3,600.

This week, we had the privilege of celebrating a milestone that will shape health care in Oklahoma for years to come. Thanks to a new gift of nearly $4 million from The Meinders Foundation, the late Herman Meinders is now Mercy’s largest individual donor in history.

Of this incredible contribution, $3 million will expand the Meinders Center for Movement Disorders, and $700,000 will bring advanced, minimally invasive technology for lung biopsies to our patients.

Friends, family and Mercy caregivers gathered to honor this legacy, including the namesakes for the new Robert H. Meinders and Linda Meinders Drumm Neurology Clinic, which is on the third floor of the Meinders NeuroScience Institute.

Since 2018, Herman and LaDonna Meinders - who both passed away in the past year - have given more than $24 million. Their generosity leaves a legacy of hope and healing across Oklahoma.

💙 Mercy Hospital Washington was grateful to welcome chaplain interns Chris Strickland and Nathan Kaplan this past year! Through Mercy Springfield’s Clinical Pastoral Education program, they dedicated 300 hours serving patients, families and caregivers, plus 100 hours of study to grow in their ministry.

Their journey was made possible by the leadership of James Austin and Susan Buchanan, whose commitment brings this vital program to our rural community.🙏
