As summer gives way to autumn, we find ourselves reflecting on the many blessings this season has brought. Each day is filled with meaningful moments, whether it is celebrating a milestone birthday, enjoying the comfort of a warm cup of coffee, listening to favorite songs, or watching the leaves change into their vibrant colors. The greatest joy, though, comes from sharing these experiences together. Surrounded by our residents, families, and community, we are reminded that both the big milestones and the quiet everyday moments are what make life so special. Through every season, we are grateful for the chance to celebrate life’s journey side by side.💜💛

Summer fun isn’t over yet for our residents! ☀️ Recently, we took advantage of a warm, sunny day with a Slip ’N Slide adventure. Thanks to our amazing clinical and activity teams, everyone stayed safe while sliding across the tarp with big smiles and joyful laughter. The possibilities for fun truly are endless!

Our employees don’t just work hard, they know how to build strong connections too! Recently, UP Home leadership hosted an employee in-service where they shared annual highlights, upcoming events, and survey results. But it wasn’t all business—departments also teamed up for fun games and bonding activities that brought plenty of laughs (and a little friendly competition)!

No matter which side you cheer for, the CyHawk rivalry is always a blast! 🎉 Friday was both dress-up day and our chance to put football skills to the test. Wellness Center members split into teams and tackled a variety of football inspired agility and coordination exercises. This included ladders, “football” carries, co****le, a quarterback throw and more! 🏈 Our stars proved they were game-day ready!

🎓✨ Yesterday we celebrated the graduation of the LeadingAge Iowa Leadership Academy Class of 2025!
Over the past eight months, these fellows embraced the challenge of self-reflection—discovering strengths, facing growth opportunities, and learning what it truly means to lead with courage and authenticity. Along the way, they built friendships, encouraged one another, and created a network that will last far beyond the program.
👏 Congratulations to this incredible group of leaders! We can’t wait to see the impact you’ll continue to make in your organizations and across the aging services field.

As August comes to a close, we wrapped up National Wellness Month with a fun and motivating Wellness Center Challenge! Using information from CDC studies, residents and community members took part in a 6-week Step Challenge. Participants logged their daily steps, and many pushed themselves to reach the “Healthy Senior” category by enjoying the outdoors, using treadmills, NuStep, walking paths, or whatever was most accessible to them. A simple yet effective way to stay active and boost overall health! 👟 Congratulations to everyone who completed the challenge, we encourage you to keep up the great work! 💪🏼

Hooked on a good time! 🎣 Last Friday our fishing crew cast their lines and reeled in plenty of fun with a perfect day by the water. Sometimes the best catch of the day isn’t the fish—it’s the laughter, the fresh air, and the memories made together. We had not only a great group of residents attend, but also an incredible group of staff that made the day possible! A special thank you to employee Tania Melendez for doubling as our photographer for the day. What special memories! 💚

We’re sending our Summer Maintenance Interns back to school for the 2025–26 year, and it’s definitely bittersweet! Sawyer, Brady, and Liam have been such a blessing to our campus this summer from mowing and painting to moving, landscaping, and countless other projects. Your hard work and positive attitudes made such a difference for our residents and community. Thank you for spending your summer with us, and best of luck in the school year ahead!
