When disaster strikes, SECOND RESPONSE works directly with affected children to mitigate the effects of post traumatic stress through productive play. Play defeats trauma by harmlessly releasing repressed emotions and with them stored hormones, restoring the physiology of the body to stability and balance and children to joyfulness and trust. Second Response is also

actively training first responders, hospital trauma teams, teachers, parents and caregivers in its body-centered methods to remediate the effects of trauma, and providing them with strategies for self-regulation, improving disaster preparedness in our communities and around the world.
