Nervous system education has changed the way I learn bodywork.

It’s not just about learning new techniques anymore. It’s about listening.

To notice subtle cues.
To recognize when the body is ready for more… and when it needs less.
To understand that timing matters.
To know that deeper isn’t always better.
To work with the body instead of against it.

The more I learn, the more I'm reminded that the skill isn’t only in what we do with our hands. It’s also in how we pay attention, respond, and meet the body where it is.

This training gave me new techniques.
But more importantly, it reminded me how powerful listening can be.

Blue = SE + Massage

The rest? An activated nervous system.

What happens next is interesting.

Those blue pockets become something people crave.

Not in an unhealthy way —
in a “oh… this is what settled feels like” way.

And they start building more of it.

A slow morning.
Time with someone who feels safe.
Earlier nights.
Less bracing.

That’s how the baseline shifts.

Stress will always spike.
That’s normal.

But the goal is to expand the blue — intentionally.

And when massage follows SE?
The body goes deeper, faster.

Hi, I’m Regina.
I’ve had some new people join me recently, so I wanted to take a moment to reintroduce myself.

I’m a licensed massage therapist in Wasilla, and I’ve always been curious about how our bodies hold stress, how they ask for support, and how things shift when we’re finally given space to slow down. My own journey of “chasing slow” — learning how to settle, soften, and listen inward — is what led me deeper into somatic work.

I’m currently a Somatic Experiencing® student, and a big part of what I do now is helping people remember the wisdom of their own bodies. My approach blends massage, nervous-system awareness, and simple embodiment practices to put the power back into your hands — not to fix you, but to help you reconnect with what’s already there.

Birthdays live in the body as somatic memories - the smells, tastes, sounds, and feelings.

Even the smallest gestures - a candle, a kind word, a shared laugh - become imprints our nervous systems carry forward.

Here's to making those imprints joyful ones, for ourselves and for each other.
