💚 OT Month Spotlight: Stephen, OTR/L 💚

This OT Month, we’re excited to spotlight Stephen, one of our dedicated Occupational Therapists! 💚👏

Stephen earned his Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University and brings a strong passion for helping patients regain function and independence in their daily lives. 🎓💪

He is currently working toward becoming a Certified Hand Therapist, continuing to expand his skills and knowledge to better serve his patients—especially those with upper extremity and hand injuries. ✋✨

Outside of the clinic, Stephen enjoys spending time outdoors—rain or shine 🌧️☀️—getting lost in a good book 📚, and exploring all that Alaska has to offer 🏔️.

We are so grateful to have Stephen on our team and to celebrate the care, dedication, and positivity he brings to his patients every day! 💚🙌

💗 OT Month Spotlight: Sherrie Gerstung, OTA 💗

This OT Month, we’re excited to spotlight Sherrie Gerstung, one of our incredible Occupational Therapy Assistants!

Sherrie was born and raised right here in Alaska and began her journey in occupational therapy after joining the Army straight out of high school. While serving, she received her training as an OTA and graduated from the program in 1998.

Throughout her career, Sherrie has gained experience in a wide variety of settings, including inpatient care, outpatient therapy, home health, and even inpatient psychology during her time in the Army. While she has a diverse background, she has truly found her passion in outpatient orthopedics.

Sherrie shares, “I truly love what I do—supporting people on their journey to regain their independence in the things that are important to them.” And that passion shines through in the care she provides every day.

Outside of work, Sherrie enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, and taking in all the beauty Alaska has to offer—especially when the Aurora is dancing across the sky. She’s also a proud Star Wars fan!

We are so grateful to have Sherrie as part of our team and to celebrate the impact she makes in the lives of her patients every day.

Today we’re proud to spotlight Shain, one of our owners and a dedicated Occupational Therapist here at FYZICAL! 🌿

Shain graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and has spent years continuing to grow his knowledge through advanced training and hands-on experience. He is also a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT), bringing a high level of skill, precision, and care to every patient he works with.

Shain is passionate about helping people regain function, independence, and confidence so they can get back to living life on their terms. His leadership and commitment to excellence have helped shape the care and culture we are so proud of today.

Outside of the clinic, Shain enjoys spending time with his family and taking full advantage of everything Alaska has to offer. From hiking and fishing to hunting and exploring Prince William Sound, he truly lives the Alaskan lifestyle. 🏔️🎣

Emily earned her Doctorate of Occupational Therapy from the University of St. Augustine and brings both knowledge and heart into every session. She is passionate about helping her patients regain independence, build confidence, and get back to doing the things they love most.

When she’s not in the clinic, you can find Emily out enjoying all that Alaska has to offer—mountain biking, hiking, skiing, and exploring the beautiful outdoors. 🏔️❄️

We are hiring! We wanted to see if all our family and friends will help us find some amazing therapists to serve our south central communities! We have urgent immediate openings in Wasilla, Eagle River and Anchorage for Physical Therpists and possibly Physical Therapy Assistants!
