The liver is the powerhouse behind bile flow—producing, managing, and releasing bile through the bile ducts into the small intestine. This yellow-green fluid, made by the liver, is essential for breaking down fats and clearing waste from the gut.
· Healthy bile flow supports detoxification by ensuring the gut, liver, and gallbladder can clear parasites and toxins safely.
· Slow or low bile flow is often linked with poor gut health, fatigue, brain fog, and trouble absorbing key nutrients and vitamins.
· Bile is made of 95% water, with the remaining 5% includes bile salts, cholesterol, bilirubin, fatty acids, and phospholipids.
· The liver produces 800–1,000 mL of bile per day, which is stored and concentrated in the gallbladder until needed for digestion.
· When you eat, especially fats, a hormone signals the gallbladder to release concentrated bile into the small intestine to break down fats.
· Bile salts emulsify fats, making them easier to digest and helping the body absorb fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K.
· Bile helps the liver eliminate waste like bilirubin (from red blood cell breakdown) and excess cholesterol, giving stool its brown color.
· If bile flow is disrupted by gallstones, duct blockages, or inflammation, it can lead to pain, infection, and poor absorption of nutrients.
· Deficiency or blockage reduces fat absorption and can cause vitamin deficiencies, malnutrition, and increased risk for liver and digestive diseases.
· Important to know: healthy bile flow is essential for vitality, clear thinking, and daily detox!
