Say hello to Dr. Etta Robertson, one of our exceptional physical therapists here at Northern Edge PT in Wasilla!

Etta earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2017 and spent several years as a travel therapist before choosing to make Alaska home. Her passion lies in helping people truly understand their bodies — she believes that even the smallest movement restriction can have big effects, and she has an incredible eye for finding those subtle details that others might miss.

Patients love Etta for her thoughtful approach, her clear communication, and her ability to blend hands-on care with movement-based rehab that feels both personalized and empowering. Whether she’s treating complex musculoskeletal pain or helping someone get back to their daily activities, Etta brings patience, precision, and genuine care into every session.

When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll most likely find her outside — backpacking, skiing, packrafting, or exploring somewhere quiet and beautiful. Etta brings that same sense of curiosity and adventure into her work, making her a clinician who sees the whole picture, not just the symptoms.

Next up - Meet Dr. Garrick Herr — Physical Therapist at Northern Edge PT 🏔️

Say hello to Dr. Garrick Herr, one of our incredible physical therapists here at Northern Edge Physical Therapy in Wasilla!

Garrick has been serving the Mat-Su Valley since 2006, helping Alaskans overcome everything from chronic back pain and migraines to post-surgery recovery, vertigo, and stubborn mobility issues. He earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University, where he developed a philosophy centered on treating the whole person — not just the painful area.

He’s especially passionate about dry needling, using it to help patients reduce muscle tension, improve mobility, and find relief from long-standing pain. Patients love Garrick for his calm presence, his problem-solving mindset, and the way he listens deeply before he treats.

Outside the clinic, Garrick is about as Alaskan as they come — you’ll find him backcountry snowboarding, snowmachining, playing hockey, flying, or spending time with his family in the great outdoors. He’s also volunteered with organizations like Special Olympics and has coached youth hockey locally.

Meet the team! First up - Dr. Keith Poorbaugh — Owner & Physical Therapist at Northern Edge PT 🏔️

If you’ve ever walked into Northern Edge Physical Therapy, you’ve likely felt the steady, grounded presence of Dr. Keith Poorbaugh, the driving force behind our clinic here in Wasilla.

Keith’s PT journey started at the Mayo Clinic, where he built a strong foundation in clinical excellence and patient-centered care. Since then, he’s spent decades developing advanced expertise in movement science, manual therapy, and complex pain conditions — always learning, always teaching, and always bringing that knowledge back home to Alaska.

What truly sets Keith apart is his belief that pain is a signal, not the enemy. He’s committed to helping patients understand their bodies, uncover the root of their symptoms, and experience real, lasting recovery — far beyond temporary fixes.

Before becoming a clinician, Keith served in the military, bringing a unique blend of grit, humility, leadership, and compassion into every patient interaction.
