Every Thanksgiving season, LoneStar DME gears up for the usual rush—oxygen orders, hospital beds, PureWick supplies, and the occasional “my walker ran over my cat’s tail” emergency. But nothing… nothing… prepared us for the legendary event now known only as The Great Turkey Incident of Waskom.

It all started when an over-the-bed table decided to prove it could do more than hold remotes, puzzle books, and the TV guide from 1998. Oh no—this table had ambition.

One chilly November morning, our delivery team walked into a customer’s home to set up a hospital bed, only to find a fully roasted, golden-brown Thanksgiving turkey chilling like it owned the place… sitting proudly on the over-bed table like it was modeling for a Butterball calendar.

No explanation.
No family in sight.
Just one extremely confident turkey enjoying its new piece of DME furniture.

The table, of course, held that bird like a champ—smooth height adjustment, perfect stability, no wobble. OSHA would’ve shed a tear of pride. One tech said, “If this table can hold THAT turkey, it can definitely hold a Bible, a bowl of soup, and the world’s largest TV remote. We’re good.”

Naturally, we snapped a photo.
Naturally, the turkey did not object.
And naturally, LoneStar DME now has the only marketing photo in Texas featuring medical equipment AND a roasted Thanksgiving entrée.

We’d like to state publicly:

No turkeys were harmed during this demonstration.
(They were harmed prior—but that’s between them and Butterball.)
