Akasha's Journey

Akasha's Journey Online holistic gift and metaphysical shop, in-person classes, readings, and holistic healing.

Akasha's Heart is an ordained interfaith minister, a teaching Reiki Master & Run Valdr Practitioner, & a certified dog trainer. She has been reading Tarot & Medicine cards and performing Chakra & Crystal healing for almost 20 years. Akasha's Heart walks her path in this life as a teacher and healer. She is an intuitive empath who communicates with Spirit, Angels, and Guides through clairsentience,

clairaudience, and clairvoyance. In sacred space, and in a container of perfect love, she conveys the messages that she receives for her clients with the utmost compassion; heart-to-heart. Akasha's Heart uses a variety of divination modalities for these messages, some of which include Tarot Cards, Healing Crystals, Angel Cards, Animal Medicine Cards, Ocean (Seashell) Oracle, the Dog Oracle, and others. (She reads for dogs, too!) Akasha feels that although many clients come seeking information, they are actually seeking a path to wholeness, and as such, if she is guided to do so, she will offer her clients other healing modalities during the session if it is for the client's highest good. Akasha's Heart was first introduced to divination in 1994 when she began reading Medicine and Tarot Cards. She is an ordained Interfaith Minister, owns and operates Akasha's Journey healing and learning center in Wassaic, New York, and she offers classes and sessions in Reiki, Integrated Energy Therapy, Crystal Healing, Tuning Fork Therapy, Sound Healing, RunValdr, and others. In addition, Akasha is a Certified Dog Trainer, is Co-Chairperson for Changing Times Changing Worlds (Interfaith Metaphysical) Conference, and she is also one of the founding Organizers for the Hudson Valley Holistic Market.

This Friday evening at the Wassaic Commons market. We are inviting crocheters and yarn artists to gather with their projects. I will be bringing small projects with me on market days. This is the first time that we will be gathering this year. I am very willing to teach Beginners Crochet. I have some yarn and hooks to share. There are several ways that this can go. Wherever you are seeing this post, please comment below:
*Are you interested in beginner lessons or are you coming in with some crochet experience?
I'd LOVE to inspire teens, 20s, 30s, and beyond to create.
*What level would you consider yourself? (I consider myself an intermediate crocheter). While I don't like labels, this will help me to choose projects to share.
*Which day/time works best? Friday at 5:30 (or maybe 6? Wassaic starts to get busy when the Lantern Inn gets busy) or Saturday around 11am or Sunday around 11am?
You are welcome to bring your own project that you're currently working on if you just want to create among friends. We love community!
We are limited to 12 participants each class.
I like to find fun projects that are beginner to advanced beginner friendly and that can be finished in a few hours to a few days. (Personally, I'm not very fast, but I am consistent). Possible projects include:
Fidgets
Hearts
Small things for Random Acts of Crocheted Kindness
Small to medium size amigurumi with relatively easy stitches
Easy wearables for community members in need (I have some easy patterns for fingerless gloves and hats)
Popsicle holders
Eco-friendly water balloons
Earbud holders
Bookmarks
Washable, reusable household products like shower scrubbies, dish cloths, facial rounds
Projects depend on what the group members will be interested in.
If you have your own hooks, please bring them.
If you have yarn colors that you prefer, please bring that. My yarn stash is not large.
We will be working with 4 weight (worsted) yarn to start and most likely hooks that are between 4.0mm (G or G/6), 4.50mm (US7), and 5.0mm (H/8).
Some projects may call for a specific type of yarn.
The water balloons call for a specific type of chenille.
Household products call for cotton.
Amigurumi can typically be done in acrylic or chenille.

If I were to teach casual crochet lessons in Wassaic, would you be interested? If we have the space, you would be able to bring your projects to work on. I see this as a place to gather. After learning some beginner stitches and mechanics. I'd like the focus to move into amigurumi, random acts of crochet kindness.

Munawar Ahmed and Matthew Schnepf Architect have started a Farmers' Market at the Wassaic Commons. I will be back there Sunday 5/17 vending. Although we've had a small start, as most things do, I'm very excited to have this in town and I can't wait to see it take off. Come into Wassaic, visit Vitsky Bakery, check out the barn and support some small businesses. If you'd like to vend, reach out to them. There is something very special about getting involved with a community project on the ground level.

Remote control organizer finished. Made to go over the sofa arm or chair arm. I made it to go over a cushion that I use for a headboard because I'm always losing my remotes in the sheets.
