!!! free the b**g water !!!

Minnestota Governor Tim Walz signed a judiciary and public safety bill that has ended criminal penalties for b**g water. Previously, quantities of b**g water greater than four ounces could be considered legally equal to the pure version of whatever substance the b**g had been used to smoke.

Under the new bill, which retroactively applies to August 2023, that provision has been removed while specifying that a drug mixture “does not include the fluid used in a water pipe or any amount of a controlled substance that is dissolved in the pipe’s fluid.”

The legislation helps undo damage caused by a Supreme Court ruling from 2009 that stated b**g water could be legally considered a drug. Defense lawyers claim this created a loophole that “allowed rogue prosecutors to put people suffering from addiction in prison for smoking drugs out of a b**g.”

Could cannabis be a key to overcoming opioid dependence? 🌿 A newly published study from the British Columbia Centre on Substance Abuse, the University of British Columbia, and Simon Fraser University suggests it might be.

Researchers analyzed data from 1,242 drug users living with chronic pain over an eight-year period (2014-2022) and found that those who used cannabis daily were significantly more likely to stop using opioids compared to occasional or non-users. The effect was especially strong among men.

As opioid addiction continues to take lives, this study adds to growing evidence that cannabis could be a safer alternative for pain management. Should medical ma*****na be more widely available as an option for those struggling with opioid dependence? Let us know your thoughts below. ⬇️

Big news for Virginia! The Senate has passed SB 970, a bill to license and regulate retail cannabis sales, potentially launching a legal market by 2026. Adults 21+ could buy up to 2.5 ounces from state-licensed stores, with sales taxed at 11.625%.

While this is a step toward regulation, past efforts have been blocked by Governor Youngkin. If the bill passes again, will history repeat itself?
