Today we’re celebrating Kara Cunningham (pictured on the left), our Executive Director, and thanking her for an incredible year at Southmayd.

Kara has been part of the Southmayd team since 2015, and her leadership is felt in every corner of this home. With a master’s in public health and years of management experience, she oversees all operations with clarity, compassion, and steady confidence.

Kara is a gentle force — the calm in the storm — keeping Southmayd running smoothly through both everyday moments and complex challenges. We are deeply grateful for her dedication, care, and commitment to the women who call Southmayd home.

Thank you, Kara, for all that you do and for leading this organization with such heart. 💙
