To those who help us. Happy Nurses Day!

04/21/2026

Hello there! We hope you will join us for the annual NAMI Walk on May 16th. It is happening at Walnut Hill Park in New Britain CT. It is not just walking, there will be fun and games, we well. As usual we can’t do this without your support. If you would consider donating directly to us, NAMI Waterbury, our team name is Minds of Waterbury, we would be forever grateful. It is through your generous donations and giving that we are able to continue to help support local and surrounding communities with mental health support and guidance. We want nothing more than to break the stigma of mental illness! We want to continue to provide affordable and/or free mental health support. We need you! Please come and walk with us to a healthier and happier future, making mental wellness a top priority! Thank you all in advance! 💚💙

You are NOT broken. You’re a work in progress. There’s always room for improvement. Healing is not linear! This scene from a show I just started watching, Happy’s Place on Netflix, touched me deeply. It hit me because I have been there, I went through very similar behavior to the character of Steve, played by Pablo Castelblanco. He is my favorite character, besides Reba, because I can relate. He has what appears to be OCD and anxiety. I remember going through these mental health battles, really hard. I’m still fighting them but I have more strength than ever! However, years ago, it was excruciating and SO very exhausting. I’m just writing this and showing the clip to let you know if his character made progress, as you will see the hand sanitizer bottle, and if I too have made progress from years of therapy, so can you! Please do not give up on yourself. Turn to your friends and family for help and reassurance. Seek therapy and consider medication, if the doctor suggests it. No matter what, remember you matter and you are so very loved. This is why I joined NAMI, the National Alliance on MeNeal Illness. If you’re interested in joining let me know.

Do something for your mental health today! Whether it is calling a friend, treating yourself to a good book, getting a manicure or pedicure, going for a walk, or just watching a favorite movie!
