We are mourning the loss of our friend Stephen Mendelsohn. He was a tireless pro-life warrior.

He brought his Jewish faith into the battle to defeat Assisted Su***de many times over the past decade, steadfastly fought for disability rights, and utilized his research skills to fight abortion. He passed information to us that we couldn't obtain anywhere else.

Stephen was a gentle man who saw dignity and value in everyone. His close friend, Cathy was always in the fight with him. Right to Life worked with both of them to ensure patient rights were protected in Connecticut's first advanced care (MOLST) document and he was frequently at the Capitol trying to bring legislators to their senses - and at times succeeding. We have no doubt that many citizens lived longer lives because of Stephen, and we have been truly inspired and informed by Stephen's presence.

Sadly, our friend was struck by a car in West Hartford on Monday evening.

Please take a moment in joining us in prayer for Stephen, Cathy and their families. May God take favor on Stephen's work for the vulnerable in our state and bless him with the eternal reward in heaven. Amen.

Our friend Stephen was a pro-life hero, bringing his tireless research skills and Jewish faith into the battle defending disability rights, pre-born children and had a profound impact in defeating Assisted Su***de legislation many times over the past 15 years.

Sadly, he was struck by a car in West Hartford on Monday evening. We send our prayers to God and condolences to his close friend, Cathy Ludlum.
