A message from the Albini Family to all:
With the ongoing concern of COVID-19, more prevalently known as, Coronavirus disease, it is natural for people to have questions and concerns with how COVID-19 is affecting attending a funeral service and/or having a funeral service for a loved one.
COVID-19 has affected many local businesses, in particularly restaurants, gyms, or any other place of business that involves large masses of peoples, and a funeral home is no different in that regard. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all small business owners in Waterbury and throughout the country and hope the effect is has on their families is minimal and is resolved expeditiously.
Chase Parkway Memorial, The Albini Family Funeral Home is still open and we are still serving the families of the Greater Waterbury Area. As of this moment, most churches in Waterbury are NOT allowing funeral masses to be held, BUT a funeral service can still be celebrated in the funeral home. One of the most common questions being asked by people is; “Are we still able to attend calling hours?” As of right now, Governor Ned Lamont has limited the amount of people in a public building to 50 people at a time as well as encourage “social distancing”. Please refer to the service details within the obituary in the newspaper as well as the funeral home’s website.
It is our recommendation for the safety of all, that funeral services of any sort are encouraged to be held privately. It is unfortunate for people that are grieving the loss of a loved one to have to make this decision, but we need to ensure the safety and health of all.
If you are feeling sick, or have a fear of becoming sick, it is strongly encouraged to stay home. If you are in good health and wish to pay your respects to an individual, you are welcome to come to the funeral home. Once you are through with paying your respects, it is kindly recommended for individuals to leave the funeral home. Not only is this a safer decision for the individual traveling in the funeral home, but it is also safer for the grieving families, the funeral home employees and to keep the maximum number of 50 people within reach.
If your family needs to make funeral arrangements for a loved one and you do not feel comfortable coming to the funeral home to do so, that is ok. There are other ways we can successfully complete all the tasks involved with making funeral arrangements, i.e. over the phone, or email.
The staff at Chase Parkway Memorial has been educated on what precautions are particularly necessary on dealing with COVID-19 in regards to properly handling human remains with people who have COVID-19 and as well as precautions necessary with handling masses of people entering and exiting the building. As always, the funeral home is cleaned regularly and hand sanitizer is always available in numerous locations throughout the building.
It is extremely important to wash your hands regularly, properly, for the adequate amount of time, and encouraged to do so before leaving your home and before exiting the funeral home.
Unfortunately, no one is sure when the COVID-19 pandemic will be contained to the point where things will go back to normal, if you will. Until then, it is up to the family’s we serve discretion to decide on whether they want services for their loved one to remain private or public.
The Albini Family and all of the staff at Chase Parkway Memorial hopes for everyone out there to stay safe, healthy and stay aware of any updates and or changes on COVID-19. If anyone has any further questions and or concerns, we encourage you to reach out to the funeral home at 203-574-1313.
Thank you and stay safe & healthy.
