Happy NEW YEAR to the best clients anyone could DREAM OF.
I am sitting at my office at 3:45PM after helping our NEW YEAR’s EVE crowd and I just have to say:
I HAVE THE BEST CLIENTS EVER.
I no longer come to work because I have to but because you are all like family and it is just a joy to help you all…Wishing everyone a great NEW YEAR and 2022…well lets just HOPE for the BEST. Seems like it will be another struggle-bus year but for now we will think positive.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
We are OPEN and ready to help
While rising global temperatures and other factors have caused an explosion in tick populations in recent years across the Great Lakes region and many other parts of United States and Canada, this year is expected to be especially bad.
WE ARE OPEN...Update on COVID-19 for our practice. We will continue to have normal hours for medicine and food and Appointments as needed.

PRO PLAN Sale at my fav store...MENARDS
Loved this guy and his dog on Lake MI
Asked if I could take a pic even tho I knew he would not be recognizable in the pic
The next day recognized “the dog” walking thru town and said to the guy attached to the leash if this dog was on a paddle board last night—my dog friends will understand. Anyway it was them and I sent him the pics as well
PLEASE NOTICE:
I am getting messages on FB here on North Oakland Visiting Vet that I cannot access for some reason. I have three of them and I feel bad but I have no way to respond to you all. Please call my office and we will be able to help you RIGHT AWAY...Thank You.
I even had the teenagers try and help me but nothing. LOL
This is a very RARE occurrence here but I need to be honest as I have gotten older we do this. We had a very NICE client usually come in an DEMAND there pet must come home after surgery today...We all tried to explain why that is NOT BEST MEDICINE after a mass is removed from the side of a dog. We GAIN NOTHING by keeping the dog overnite. Hospital charge is good for day and night and until evening the next day after a surgery so no additional costs involved...IT IS JUST BETTER CARE to allow it to heal a little and the dog to REST. This person would NOT relent and so we told them to PICK UP the dog. Then we get this because we want what is best for her dog. BUT I WEAR WAITERS most of the time...Better to do what is best for the pet and we could not today.
TICK WARNING:
Today I was told someone’s dog was covered by Ticks after being at park
This afternoon, I treated a dog with an engorged tick that was just in the back yard in Waterford...FOLKS this is early but they have landed. Get your pets protected for TICKS...WE CAN HELP!!

Serious threat to YOU and your pet
60,000 humans died worldwide due to Rabies in 2017
“Rabies is present in our communities and is most often found in bats, raccoons, skunks, and foxes,” Leigh-Anne Stafford, health officer for Oakland County said. “People and their pets need to be careful and avoid encounters with unfamiliar animals."
One of my patients getting her picture (the dog that is) with The TWINS that play for the SeaHawks...WHAT A SMALL WORLD WE LIVE IN...
VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON GRAIN FREE DIETS ... FROM THE FDA this time.
Very Sobering. You Dogs food is critical as I always preach.
https://www.nbcnews.com/nightly-news/video/dog-heart-disease-linked-to-grain-free-food-fda-says-1292736067932
Grain-free dog food with main ingredients like peas, lentils or potatoes may be linked to unusual heart conditions in dogs, warns the Food and Drug Administration.
Good Morning to all my Wonderful Clients
Apparently, following the July 4th Holiday, Canine Influenza started popping up on the ER radars on the East Side. So far these cases are in Shelby and Rochester Hills, MI.
If your DOG is exposed to many situations that involve a lot of dogs that you are unsure of their history...then you should have your pet vaccinated for Canine Influenza and we have the BIVALENT form of that vaccine...the most protective form right now.
Please call us if you are needing this protection.
248-674-8035.
This is NOT to cause PANIC but I just want my clients educated and informed of these new developments. My advice for the next 30 days is to avoid ANY and ALL contact with dogs you are unfamiliar with. Not you but your dog...LOL
FUN at the VET:
THIS IS A SPECIAL ALERT for all pet owners with Pets that like to be outside. BE VERY CAREFUL in this heat. Walks should only be done at dusk or super early mornings.
OVERHEATED and Heat Stroke Pets is a VERY COMMON problem this time of year and it can happen very suddenly. BE SUPER CAREFUL.

HUGE NEWS for Cats
We now have a food that addresses the problem in undetected early kidney disease in cats. We have a test as well. Please ask us about this new technology in your pets care.
This last part just MADE MY DAY!! WOW!!
You have to keep smiling some days...btw I have no idea who this person is that contacted me or her credentials.
Interesting Conversation with a lady concerned about her pet...AS SHE SHOULD BE. We love clients that ask questions. It is NOT HEALTHY to just choose a Package at some event. Know why and what you are giving at all times.
ALL will worship
Merry Christmas EVERYONE.
We are so thankful for all of you. It is wonderful to care for your pets and help such wonderful people. I know this is a time of year when many are truly sad reflecting on losses in their lives...been there too. Just remember Christmas is about JESUS and how he changed our world FOREVER and can change us too. Here is something to reflect on this weekend:
From Creation to Bethlehem by Ken Ham:

Honestly, we get to work with the best people EVER. Everyone has been so kind to Sandi with calls and FB notes over the sudden loss of her beloved Bella and then the Christmas boxes...just wow...very blessed.
THANK YOU ALL
A Friend and Client post this...too funny and a little twisted.
Your are VERY WELCOME!!
We get all kinds of cuteness at the office. How FUN!!!
We try to accommodate all schedules...not a problem.
To BEST CLIENTS in OAKLAND County
Heartworm Prevention has started as of May 1st. Please start your preventative or call us if you need more.
I have heard so many FALSE stories about Heartworm. Please be advised that we prevent May 1st thru December 1st because that covers from the end of March thru the end of November. Your dog must encounter a mosquito that has allowed the transformation of the HW larvae inside of the mosquito and then injected it back into another dog. This REQUIRES a mosquito and one that is alive for a few days. So May and December are safety months but we believe very important months in MI.
Your dog must get the disease from a mosquito.
Your dog cannot get the disease from the pups mom.
Your dog is LOVED at North Oakland Visiting and Veterinary Hospital.
Have an AWESOME summer.
NAVC conference 13 hour days and trip to Florida -- TOTALLY worth it when a client calls and tells you a new treatment has cured her DOG.....SO ExCiTED!!
More CATS in the US x3 get Rabies than Dogs. WOW
AND BATS LIVE INDOORS which is the biggest way humans are exposed in the US.....BECAUSE we vaccinate so well for this disease. Rest of world is still the DOG
In Session on Feline (Cat) Vaccines and they are preaching what I have KNOWN and ADHERED to for over 20 years now.
VACCINES must be NON-Adjuvanted or you are causing Cancer.
Shelters, low cost places and RESCUES use the cheapest Vaccines and THAT IS A PROBLEM.

I am so blessed by such wonderful people that surround me in life and in my practice. These very kind people brought a FB page to my attention that I was unaware even existed. It was hidden from me by its creator. A ONE TIME CLIENT that we tried our best to help but who caused my assistant to cry from his wife on the phone and then he pounded on my counter at the office until she felt like she would be attacked. We called the COPS......I have zero patience for people that are rude to my staff......ZERO!!! Thanks to the Nudi's for bringing this to my attention.
