I am sitting at my office at 3:45PM after helping our NEW YEAR’s EVE crowd and I just have to say:

I HAVE THE BEST CLIENTS EVER.

I no longer come to work because I have to but because you are all like family and it is just a joy to help you all…Wishing everyone a great NEW YEAR and 2022…well lets just HOPE for the BEST. Seems like it will be another struggle-bus year but for now we will think positive.

While rising global temperatures and other factors have caused an explosion in tick populations in recent years across the Great Lakes region and many other parts of United States and Canada, this year is expected to be especially bad.

Loved this guy and his dog on Lake MI
Asked if I could take a pic even tho I knew he would not be recognizable in the pic

The next day recognized “the dog” walking thru town and said to the guy attached to the leash if this dog was on a paddle board last night—my dog friends will understand. Anyway it was them and I sent him the pics as well

This is a very RARE occurrence here but I need to be honest as I have gotten older we do this. We had a very NICE client usually come in an DEMAND there pet must come home after surgery today...We all tried to explain why that is NOT BEST MEDICINE after a mass is removed from the side of a dog. We GAIN NOTHING by keeping the dog overnite. Hospital charge is good for day and night and until evening the next day after a surgery so no additional costs involved...IT IS JUST BETTER CARE to allow it to heal a little and the dog to REST. This person would NOT relent and so we told them to PICK UP the dog. Then we get this because we want what is best for her dog. BUT I WEAR WAITERS most of the time...Better to do what is best for the pet and we could not today.

Serious threat to YOU and your pet
60,000 humans died worldwide due to Rabies in 2017

“Rabies is present in our communities and is most often found in bats, raccoons, skunks, and foxes,” Leigh-Anne Stafford, health officer for Oakland County said. “People and their pets need to be careful and avoid encounters with unfamiliar animals."

Good Morning to all my Wonderful Clients

Apparently, following the July 4th Holiday, Canine Influenza started popping up on the ER radars on the East Side. So far these cases are in Shelby and Rochester Hills, MI.

If your DOG is exposed to many situations that involve a lot of dogs that you are unsure of their history...then you should have your pet vaccinated for Canine Influenza and we have the BIVALENT form of that vaccine...the most protective form right now.

Please call us if you are needing this protection.
248-674-8035.

This is NOT to cause PANIC but I just want my clients educated and informed of these new developments. My advice for the next 30 days is to avoid ANY and ALL contact with dogs you are unfamiliar with. Not you but your dog...LOL

FUN at the VET:

THIS IS A SPECIAL ALERT for all pet owners with Pets that like to be outside. BE VERY CAREFUL in this heat. Walks should only be done at dusk or super early mornings.

OVERHEATED and Heat Stroke Pets is a VERY COMMON problem this time of year and it can happen very suddenly. BE SUPER CAREFUL.

Merry Christmas EVERYONE.

We are so thankful for all of you. It is wonderful to care for your pets and help such wonderful people. I know this is a time of year when many are truly sad reflecting on losses in their lives...been there too. Just remember Christmas is about JESUS and how he changed our world FOREVER and can change us too. Here is something to reflect on this weekend:

To BEST CLIENTS in OAKLAND County

Heartworm Prevention has started as of May 1st. Please start your preventative or call us if you need more.

I have heard so many FALSE stories about Heartworm. Please be advised that we prevent May 1st thru December 1st because that covers from the end of March thru the end of November. Your dog must encounter a mosquito that has allowed the transformation of the HW larvae inside of the mosquito and then injected it back into another dog. This REQUIRES a mosquito and one that is alive for a few days. So May and December are safety months but we believe very important months in MI.

Your dog must get the disease from a mosquito.
Your dog cannot get the disease from the pups mom.
Your dog is LOVED at North Oakland Visiting and Veterinary Hospital.

Have an AWESOME summer.

In Session on Feline (Cat) Vaccines and they are preaching what I have KNOWN and ADHERED to for over 20 years now.
VACCINES must be NON-Adjuvanted or you are causing Cancer.
Shelters, low cost places and RESCUES use the cheapest Vaccines and THAT IS A PROBLEM.

I am so blessed by such wonderful people that surround me in life and in my practice. These very kind people brought a FB page to my attention that I was unaware even existed. It was hidden from me by its creator. A ONE TIME CLIENT that we tried our best to help but who caused my assistant to cry from his wife on the phone and then he pounded on my counter at the office until she felt like she would be attacked. We called the COPS......I have zero patience for people that are rude to my staff......ZERO!!! Thanks to the Nudi's for bringing this to my attention.

A huge thank you to Dr Mark and his staff for the incredible job they are doing! Took my new puppy for his first visit and my older dog for his heart worm test today. There were a few more safety procedures in place, but the service and personal focused attention was above and beyond! Love Dr Mark and his staff, absolutely care about our pets as much as we do!
Thank you so much Mark Herne for checking out Henry Ford today!!! 😍🐾😍. Puppy Love...
I’m not particular about much, but I’m very particular about who takes care of my animals. Dr. Mark is knowledgeable, patient, and takes his time with my pets. I highly recommend him!
Dr. Mark Herne, have you seen these before? Do you think they might be effective for cats' teeth? TIA!
Praying I get a call soon with a update on my babies. They were dropped off at 9 am this morning for the spay and neuter. I called at 3 to check on them but they were still doing surgeries. Now I see you closed at 6. So I don't know if I'll still get a update. I'm a very worried mom over here. They have never been away from home. Just want to know they're ok.
Here is what I think of Dr. Mark. (I have to say, he is my nephew and I think/know he is Super Vet!
About 20 years ago, we had a chocolate lab which continually had diarrhea and vomiting. Our San Diego vet didn't solve it. We moved to Chicagoland and had a team of 4 vets. They were stumped. Then we moved back to Toronto area to a former vet. He didn't know what to do. I tried a holistic vet. She had him allergy tested, and he was allergic to EVERYTHING -- cotton, wool, grass, you name it! She had me cooking 3 pots of chicken and peeled potatoes every other day (and I don't cook for my family!). I had to buy a food processor to mush it up for him. It helped, but was not a cure. Dear Dr. Mark said to bring him to MI for a week and let him figure it out. And he did!!! He found the one and only dog food in the world Hershey could eat. As I recall, it had NOTHING natural in it! And he developed 2 serums for him to receive as shots monthly. He improved dramatically and lived the last 4 years of his life in comfort. Now I have Toby, a sweet stinkpot as most chocolates are. He is constantly in trouble. This week he ate a whole stick of butter after we left the table. Anyway. . . took him to my local vet in NC as he was looking skinny. They noted a lump on his left hind ankle and aspirated it determining it was cancer. Then they wanted to biopsy it and take lung x-rays, and talked about chemo and radiation. cha-ching. Mark said, "NO! Don't let them touch it again unless removal." But it couldn't be removed -- no margins They would have to take the leg. I said, "NO!!" Meanwhile, he ate a whole bag of Easter Peanut M&Ms. I said, I would rather have him die of chocolate than cancer! But he didn't die. Meanwhile, Mark had sent me a medication (Prednisone) to give with Benadryl for 30 days. Last week, I couldn't find the lump; well, maybe a jellybean lump! Mark said, "Wait 30 days." That is next week!!! He said, if it does what he thinks it will do, we are on the right track. Meanwhile, on Easter, I met the mother of my church's youth pastor's wife. Her dog was healed by prayer a few years ago! When I introduced myself to her, she said, "Toby's mom! I am praying for Toby!!!! (I am too!) How awesome. His most recent craziness: he ate half a bowl of decorated hard-boiled eggs. . . I love my Monster (as DIL has dubbed him!!!).
Thanks so much for taking good care of my Leo kitty. He's doing great and eats all his food every day :)
Thanks so much for your help and compassion in a difficult time tonight, Dr. Mark. 💕
Good morning from the Leo kitty!
A huge thank you to Dr Mark and Sandi for taking great care of my Leo kitty. He's doing great and doesn't seem to be in any pain after his oral tumor removal. He's eating the CN Critical Care food and his appetite is very good too. He's currently napping on the top level of his cat condo and his brother, Jinxy, is so happy Leo's back home too. Thanks for always taking great care of our furbabies.
Thank you Dr. Mark & Sandy for taking such good care of Kyzer and sparing him from having to have surgery! Hopefully that’s his last extended stay with you all! You are the best! 💙
Thank you Dr Mark for staying late last night and getting us all up to date and keeping my buddy healthy! Wouldn't trust anyone else with him.
