Dr. Clor loves being outdoors and spending time with family. In his free time he can be found bowling, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his new niece.

" I am overly joyed to be able to work in a field I love while also providing care to a community much like the one I grew up in. Whether it’s a simple (but painful!) ingrown nail, custom orthotics, or a major reconstructive surgery, I am eager to use my years of education and training to improve the lives of each and every patient I see. I am fortunate to be joining such a solid, busy practice with such a great reputation. I’m looking forward to starting my career and laying down roots serving the local community.”

WHAT IS A FRACTURE?

Fractures occur when a bone breaks from a fall or direct injury. A fracture may be classified as a hairline fracture, which is a thin fracture that may not run through the entire bone, or a displaced fracture where the bones are out of place. Not all fractures require surgical correction

WHAT IS A STRESS FRACTURE?

Stress fractures are weak spots or small cracks in the bone caused by continuous overuse. Sometimes there is no swelling, but pain and tenderness often increases during movement.

DIAGNOSING AND TREATING A FRACTURE

It might not come as a surprise to you if a fracture has occurred, as the area is usually very painful and swollen. The site may even be deformed. Immediate treatment consists of resting of the injured leg or foot. Use of an ice or cold pack will help control swelling. Be sure to protect the skin from direct contact with the ice. Medical advice should be sought immediately! Remember that some fractures may require expedient surgery, so you should avoid food or drink until the doctors have seen the injury.
X-rays: Almost always, an X-Ray is required to make an accurate diagnosis of any fractures, and to decide upon the correct treatment.

CONSERVATIVE AND SURGICAL TREATMENTS

Conservative treatments for fractures of the foot and ankle consist of R.I.C.E.! Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. Dr. Lefler may need to put a hard cast on your affected extremity, or place you in an Air Cast (Large Cast Boot). You might be required to be off of your extremity for 6 to 8 weeks while bones have a chance to heal.
There is a chance that the fracture might be displaced, or in an unstable position. If this is the case, surgery might be required to realign the bones and repair the deformity using internal materials such as plates and screws.
If you have had an injury, or you are concerned that you may have fractured your foot or ankle, be sure to call the office and schedule an appointment to be seen right away.
