Position: Lead Resident Assistant / First and Second Shifts / Full-time
PURPOSE OF YOUR DESCRIPTION
To initiate and assist Resident Assistants in their job duties and monitor changes in the well-being of our residents and report to the Administrator issues or concerns that may affect the daily operations of Riverwalk Senior Living.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- Must possess good customer service skills, honesty, the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, Residents, families, visitors, government agencies/personal and the general public.
- Must not pose a threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
- Demonstrates basic knowledge of documentation forms.
- Possess the ability to share knowledge and teach others.
- Demonstrates accountability for own actions and is receptive to feedback.
- Must demonstrate basic computer skills and knowledge.
- Must possess leadership and organizational skills.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet all visitors with respect.
- Must possess the ability to organize the programs, goals, policies and procedures that are necessary to maintain an informed community.
- Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
- Must be able to relay information to management team and co-workers.
- Monitor Resident condition and advise care team of such.
- Report any concerns related to staff or Residents to care management team.
- Execute a good role model for all staff including completion of MAR, progress notes, and full and complete shift report.
- Attend and participate in all staff meetings, training, and/or in-services.
- Monitor medication cart weekly for items laid out by care team management.
- Monitor MAR daily for appropriate transcription of orders and discontinuation, staff initials of scheduled and PRN medication documentation.
- Destruction of expired or discontinued medications and record such on appropriate forms.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Communicate with staff to support management and company policies.
- Is subject to remain in place or call-back during emergency conditions (severe weather, evacuation, fire, sudden illness, and accident).
- Attends and participates in mandatory meetings, in-services, and all trainings.
- Is subject to injury, falls, burns, odors, etc., throughout the workday as well as a reaction from dust, disinfectants, and other air contaminants.
- Is subject to exposure to infectious waste (body and bodily fluids), diseases, conditions, etc., including but not limited to TB, AIDS, and the Hepatitis B viruses.
- May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous waste materials.
- Maintain a liaison with the residents. Families, partnerships with outside agencies, etc., to adequately plan for the resident’s needs.

EDUCATION
- Must possess at least a high school diploma or GED.
- Must be certified in required training per State Regulations for a RCAC or willing to obtain training within required time frame per State Regulations.
EXPERIENCE
Some experience required in related field. One to two years of experience in a related field is preferred, but not required.
