✨ Today and Pillar of Cedar Valley, we welcomed Care Initiatives Hospice representatives, Briget and Staci, who shared valuable education with our team about the wide range of services hospice provides.

Did you know? Hospice isn’t just end-of-life care. It can also include complimentary therapies such as spiritual and emotional support, pet therapy, music therapy, and more 🐾 🎶 💜. Hospice also provides bereavement care to support patients and their families. 🍃

We are proud to partner with hospice providers to ensure our residents and families receive the support they need. Pillar of Cedar Valley accepts hospice referrals. ♥️

🌟 August Monthly In-Service at Pillar of Cedar Valley! 🌟
Today our team gathered for our August in-service, where we discussed upcoming and ongoing facility projects and preparing for the upcoming flu season.

We were grateful to welcome special guests Emily and Rebecca from Black Hawk Public Health Department, who provided valuable education on current health concerns in our community— including Measles cases in Iowa and the presence of West Nile Virus in mosquitoes in Black Hawk County. 🦟

Keeping our staff informed helps us keep our residents safe, healthy, and thriving. 💜

On National Dog Day, our team and residents had the joy of celebrating with some extra-special guests- our employees’ dogs! As part of our Cooking Club, residents rolled up their sleeves and worked together to make homemade donuts— and the results were as delicious as they were fun! From mixing and shaping to sharing stories around the table, the dining room was filled with laughter, teamwork, and of course… the smell of fresh donuts. 💜

Nothing brings people together quite like a little sugar and a lot of smiles. 😋

🎉 🐷 🟢Hungry Hungry Hippos… LIVE! 🟢🐷🎉
Today our Restorative Team and Activities Department joined forces to bring a childhood favorite to life— Hungry Hungry Hippos, Pillar style!

Residents had a blast working on gross motor skills, balance, coordination, and socialization while sweeping tennis balls into the “hippos’ mouths” (aka hula hoops 🎾 ➡️⭕️).

Laughter, teamwork, and plenty of fun filled the room — proving that exercise and play can go hand in hand. 💪 ❤️
