💜 Day Six of "Two Weeks of Triumph!" Substance Use Education! 💊

At Success Street, we’re committed to meeting students where they are: offering care, guidance, and support for the challenges they may face, including those related to substance use. 🌱

Through our partnership with Pathways Behavioral Services, Ashton Kapelanski, a dedicated adolescent Substance Use Counselor, provides confidential education and counseling services to students in the Waterloo and Cedar Falls school districts. These sessions give students a safe and nonjudgmental space to talk openly, set goals, and access tools for healthier choices and habits. 💬💪

In Fiscal Year 2025, Ashton provided an incredible 280 counseling sessions, reaching 112 students who were experiencing challenges related to substance use. Each session represents a step toward healing, growth, and empowerment to help students build resilience and take positive steps for their future. 🌟

We’re deeply grateful to Pathways Behavioral Services and Ashton for their dedication to student wellness and their compassion in helping young people navigate life’s toughest moments. 💜

Those who have access to alcohol at home are more likely to drink earlier in life.

Early drinking is linked to:
⚠️Poor mental health
⚠️Lower academic achievement
⚠️Lifelong risks

Tomorrow, we’re joining the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office - Waterloo, Iowa for their Family Fun Day!

Bring the whole family for an afternoon of food, games, and activities, including a bouncy house and photo stand. Learn how to dial 911 and explore emergency vehicles up close. You can also take a tour of our brand new Mobile Health Clinic!

⏰ Time: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
📍 Location: Black Hawk County Sheriff's Training Facility, 6635 Dubuque Rd, Raymond

The Bremer County Suicide Prevention Coalition invites you to a free movie night at Grumpy’s this Saturday October 4th! This event presents the connection between the farming crisis in the 80’s and the current agricultural climate, and offers suicide prevention resources, along with time for community connection. Stop by Pathways’ table to learn about our services!

The schedule for the event is as follows:
5:30p – Event starts; cards, bags, browsing of resource tables
6:00p – Dr. David Brown with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, will present on the connection between the farming crisis in the 80’s and the current agricultural climate
6:30p – Movie starts

This Saturday is our annual Community Day at our Training Facility in Raymond. You will have a chance to see a variety of emergency vehicles, dress up as a Deputy, see the Public Health Mobile Clinic, face painting, food and drinks, bouncy house and much more! Please join us on October 4th from 11am-2pm at 6635 Dubuque Road in Raymond for this fun event!
