Colin Bradley is a 79-year-old paperboy from Little Weighton in East Yorkshire who has no plans to slow down. A lifelong village resident, Colin began delivering newspapers a decade ago after filling in for two younger boys and quickly made the role his own, completing his six-day-a-week round at an impressive pace.
He previously worked as a farm laborer and lorry driver. Today, he enjoys the steady routine, meaningful work, and strong sense of community—even with early mornings, unpredictable weather, and fast-moving traffic through the village. Widowed and having lost his brother recently, Colin keeps busy not only with his paper round but also by tending local gardens, helping at a slimmers’ club, and staying active in village life. He says he’ll keep delivering papers for as long as he can walk, embodying a quiet determination and deep attachment to his home and neighbors.

We had the opportunity to attend the very first Disability Advocacy Day at the Iowa State Capitol on April 1st, and it was such a meaningful experience 💙

This event brought together advocates, self-advocates, families, and community partners for a day focused on connection, learning, and taking action. It was inspiring to see so many voices come together to support inclusion, accessibility, and resources for individuals of all abilities.
At Right at Home, we’re proud to stand alongside those advocating for stronger communities and better support systems for the people we serve every day.

Damien, caregiver at Right at Home Rhome, TX, lives the Right at Home mission by always putting his client’s comfort and well‑being first. When Mr. Charley needed a haircut but couldn’t handle the stress of traveling to a barbershop due to limited vision and mobility challenges, Damien stepped in without hesitation.

Damien came by to make sure Mr. Charley felt comfortable and cared for. He set up a chair on the porch, helped Charley get settled, and gave him the haircut exactly the way he wanted, all while chatting about their favorite topics. This simple act of kindness made a meaningful difference in Charley’s quality of life and is a beautiful example of care that truly comes from the heart. 🧡🩵

Colon cancer is one of the most treatable cancers when caught early, with a 90% survival rate in early stages. Regular screenings can stop cancer before it starts by finding and removing precancerous polyps.
