Big News in Obesity Care

Millions of Americans living with obesity have faced barriers to treatment high costs and limited coverage have made it hard to access the care they need. That may soon begin to change.

The Trump Administration has announced new agreements with pharmaceutical manufacturers to lower the cost of FDA-approved obesity medications.

Medicare beneficiaries will pay just $50 per month, making these treatments far more affordable.

This step also opens the door for future Medicare and Medicaid coverage of obesity medications for adults.

While we don’t yet know how soon these changes will take effect, this announcement represents real progress toward recognizing obesity as a chronic disease that deserves comprehensive, ongoing care just like any other health condition.
