These pianos once filled the halls of the high school that stood on the Harmony Hill campus. They were played by students, practiced on after school, and part of moments that shaped lives🧔

Thanks to the Benedictine Sisters of the Mother of God Monastery, those stories don’t end here.

When it came time to find these well-loved pianos a new home, they didn’t just want them moved; they wanted them continued. Played again. Cared for again. Loved again.

So we reached out to Joe at Lindner Music.
Without hesitation, he said yes!

Joe is taking these pianos, restoring them, tuning them, and giving them new life, so someone else can sit down, play the keys, and create something meaningful once more.

And getting them there? That took a village.

Our Facilities team at The Village of Harmony Hill carefully lifted, loaded, and transported these pieces with the kind of care you’d expect for something that holds so much history.

From the Sisters, to our team, to Joe…this is community. And somewhere soon, these pianos will play againšŸŽ¶

It’s starting to take shape🧔

Up on the hill, you can now see the framing of the first floor of The Villas of Harmony Hill, our new 62-apartment independent living community. Floor by floor, this space is coming to life.

The Villas will be directly connected to The Commons, linking independent living to assisted living and memory care. That means a spouse can walk down the hall to visit their partner. A daughter can stop in and see her mom. Families can stay close, even as needs change.

This is what aging in place looks like.
Not moving away, but moving forward, togetheršŸ«¶šŸ¼

With a planned opening in 2027, we’re already seeing interest from those who want to be part of this next chapter on campus.

This is the future of home on Harmony Hill🧔

Throughout March, we had the privilege of recognizing team members who embody what The Village of Harmony Hill stands for in how they care for others every single day🧔

✨ Bella lives out Human Dignity in a powerful way. She advocates for residents, speaks with them in ways that honor their independence and life experiences, and makes sure their voices are heard. She takes the time to listen, involve them in decisions, and ensure they feel respected. That same compassion carries over to her teammates by stepping in without hesitation when someone needs support.

✨ Jasmine embodies Radical Hospitality from the moment she walks in to the end of a long 12-hour shift. No matter the hour, she greets everyone with a warm smile and a positive attitude. Her kindness, patience, and genuine care create a space where residents and team members alike feel welcomed and valued.

✨ Kylie shows us what Community looks like in action. She consistently steps in to support both residents and her team, especially during Activities. Whether she’s helping residents safely into wheelchairs or walking alongside them so they can fully participate, she ensures everyone feels included, supported, and connected.

✨ Angela reflects Intentional Excellence through the small, thoughtful moments that often go unseen. She checks in on teammates, offers help before being asked, and goes out of her way to make things easier for others, whether that’s grabbing supplies or taking on extra tasks. She also takes time to truly know her residents and their preferences, creating a more personal and meaningful experience.

These are the moments that define us.
The quiet, consistent ways our team shows up for one another.

And because of them, this place feels like home🧔

You could feel it the moment you walked in.

Families finding their tables. Kids squeezing in next to grandparents. Someone pulling up an extra chair so no one had to sit alone.

Our culinary arts team curated a beautiful Easter Brunch! Residents and families spent quality time together, the conversations lingered, and it was a ā€œstay a little longerā€ kind of morning.

This is what Easter looked like at The Village.
The kind of moments that remind you what home really feels like🧔

There is something sacred about new beginningsšŸŒ…

Easter reminds us that even after the darkest seasons, light returns. Hope rises. And life begins again.

At The Village of Harmony Hill, we see that same quiet renewal every day in moments of connection, in laughter shared across generations, and in the simple presence of being together.

Today, we celebrate not only the promise of Easter, but the beauty of community, compassion, and the enduring strength of the human spirit.

From all of us at The Village, we wish you and your families a blessed and peaceful Easter🧔

Meet Luella and Sr. Mary Lambert, residents of Benet Place, our independent living community, who recently helped name the floor plans for our newest addition: The Villas of Harmony Hill🧔

As our 62 apartment independent living community currently under construction and opening in 2027 begins to take shape, it felt only right to invite the voices of those already living it. Their thoughtful input will now be part of something lasting; shaping a space future residents will call home.

To say thank you, we surprised them with a few goodies, but the real gift is the legacy they’ve helped create.

Because at The Village, we don’t just build for our residents; we build with themšŸ«¶šŸ¼

Every Friday is Juicing with Jess!🄤Fresh juice, good conversation, and a standing date our residents know they can count on.

And as one resident perfectly put it:
ā€œShe is so faithful in her juicing on Fridays, even if only 1 or 2 people show up, Jess is there.ā€šŸ˜‚

Honestly, we all need Jess in our lives.

Because at The Village, showing up for people is what matters most🧔

When it comes to memory loss, understanding the signs early can make all the difference🧔

Join us for our ā€œIt Takes a Villageā€ Memory Loss & Aging Support Group as we welcome special guest Dr. Lee from Firefly Counseling for an important conversation on memory screenings and early awareness.

This month’s topic: ā€œScreening Smarts: Spotting Signs Soonerā€ will help individuals and families better understand when to seek support, what signs to look for, and how early detection can lead to improved care and quality of life.

Lincoln Elementary second graders visited Benet Place, bringing music, energy, and big smiles to our independent living residents.

Led by the wonderful Peggy Moeller, these students shared songs and moments that reached far beyond the notes. You could see it in the way our residents leaned in, smiled, and soaked it all in. It’s a beautiful reminder of how powerful connections across generations can be on our intergenerational campus.

Peggy has such a special gift for creating these moments, and we’re so grateful for the way she continues to bring her students to Harmony Hill throughout the year.

Because here, it’s never just a performance.
It’s shared joy. It’s connection. It’s community🧔

Today, Corinne, our Independent Living Manager, pulled off the sweetest April Fool’s prank.

What looked like a classic burger, fries, and ketchup at lunch was actually cookies and frosting.

Our independent living residents got quite the surprise and plenty of laughs when they realized dessert was on the menu all along. Corinne even made extra and brought the treats over to our assisted living team, as seen below.

Moments like this remind us that community is about laughter, creativity, and a little fun along the way.

Happy April Fool’s Day from Harmony Hill🧔

We’re so grateful to Krista Beauchamp and Kelsey Belle Kohler for joining Northeast Radio SD to talk about Adult Day Services at The Village of Harmony Hill. This program is designed to support older adults while providing peace of mind for caregivers.

Adult Day Services offers a safe, engaging environment where participants can experience connection, purpose, and care throughout the day, while families gain the support they need.

This conversation helps shine a light on a service that so many families may not even realize is available right here in our community.

Thank you to Northeast Radio SD for helping us share this story and expand awareness of what’s possible for aging with dignity and support!
