We had the privilege of welcoming South Dakota Governor's Office of Economic Development to The Village of Harmony Hill. Their visit gave us an opportunity to share the extraordinary mission of the Sisters of the Mother of God Monastery and the bold vision they continue to lead on Harmony Hill.

Sister Barb spoke beautifully about the Sisters’ lifelong mission of service and their unwavering commitment to making this land a place of healing, learning, and connection. From the monastery to our senior living community, to Our Little Village Learning Center, the GOED team saw firsthand how the Sisters are pioneering in a way never before seen in the religious community—transforming 485 acres into an intergenerational campus that enriches not only Watertown, but the entire state of South Dakota.

This land carries a legacy of compassion and courage, and with every step forward, it’s becoming a model of what’s possible when faith, innovation, and community come together🧡

We’re deeply grateful for the Governor’s Office of Economic Development for taking the time to walk alongside us, to listen, and to dream with us about the future impact of this work. Together, we are building something bigger than ourselves—a Village for all generations.

This week, we pause to honor two incredible women who make The Village of Harmony Hill feel like home—Tami & Vicki🧡

National Environmental Services Week shines a light on the unseen heroes who keep healthcare communities safe, clean, and welcoming. Here at The Village, Vicki and Tami do so much more than that. Their hard work creates not just a spotless environment, but a place filled with warmth, dignity, and care for our residents, families, and staff.

From the little details that bring comfort, to the big efforts that keep our community running smoothly, their dedication doesn’t go unnoticed. They remind us daily that true hospitality is found in service done with love.

Vicki and Tami—thank you for the care you put into every corner of our home. You are the heart behind the scenes, and we are so grateful for you!🫶🏼

Life at The Village of Harmony Hill is anything but ordinary—and this week, we turned up the fun with a fiesta to celebrate National Assisted Living Week!🇲🇽Residents gathered for tacos, margaritas, and plenty of laughter, proving that joy, connection, and celebration are woven into everyday life here.

Our activities program is about creating vibrant moments that enrich the lives of our seniors. From themed parties to outings and everyday gatherings, these experiences spark friendships, lift spirits, and remind us all that life is meant to be lived fully—at every age🧡

Our Vintiques at The Village Car Show was an evening to remember—and it’s all thanks to YOU!🧡

Families, friends, residents, and neighbors came together to enjoy classic cars, hot dogs, chips, and refreshing lemonade on the most beautiful evening! The smiles, laughter, and joy on everyone’s faces reminded us why community matters so much.

A special thank you to all who brought their collectible cars to share and to everyone who voted in the Village People’s Choice Award—you made the event lively and fun from start to finish!

Today, members of The Village Leadership Team had the privilege of visiting our friends at Edgewood Senior Living-Watertown. Dana welcomed us with warmth and gave us a wonderful tour of their community.

In senior living, it’s easy to think of each other as competitors. But here at The Village of Harmony Hill, we believe in something deeper: community over competition. We’re all working toward the same goal—helping seniors live with dignity, joy, and purpose. When we share ideas, learn from one another, and celebrate each other’s strengths, everyone wins—especially the residents and families we serve.

We’re grateful to Dana and the Edgewood team for their hospitality and for reminding us that the heart of senior living is not in the walls we build, but in the connections we nurture—together🧡

Growing up on an intergenerational campus means a child’s world is filled with elders and Sisters who share stories, wisdom, and lessons you can’t find in a textbook.

Like this moment: kiddos gathered around a map with Sisters Adrienne & Teresa Ann, listening, pointing, and asking questions. What looks like a geography activity is really a bridge between generations. The children learn history and perspective through the eyes of those who lived it.

This is the beauty of The Village of Harmony Hill: children are learning empathy, respect, and the value of community. And seniors aren’t just cared for—they’re celebrated as teachers, storytellers, and role models.

Because here, every age matters. Every story matters. And together, we’re raising kinder, wiser kids while giving seniors the gift of being needed🧡
