What a Remarkable Year It Has Been!

We are both thrilled and humbled to have been honored with the Optometrist(s) of the Year award by the South Dakota Optometric Society at the 2025 Spring Convention.

Last fall, we embarked on one of the most challenging yet rewarding journeys of our professional careers. With the retirement of both ophthalmologists in our town, we recognized the pressing need for continued patient care in our region. We were determined to fill this void to the best of our abilities.

After many late nights and long weekends dedicated to preparing equipment, establishing policies, and refining procedures, we transitioned to the patient care phase. We proudly introduced five new procedures that had not previously been performed by optometrists in South Dakota.

In addition to providing these new services to our patients, we are proud to be the first two (and currently the only) O.D.s in the state licensed to supervise other doctors in these procedures, enabling them to broaden their scope of care for their patients.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our exceptional team. Their commitment during the extensive training sessions, which involved learning new skills and assuming additional responsibilities, was extraordinary. If you have visited our clinic, you know just how remarkable they are.

We also wish to express our appreciation to Dr. Wayne Snyder, whose instrumental support was vital in our journey towards obtaining the necessary licenses to perform these procedures.

Finally, we want to thank our patients. Our unwavering goal has always been to provide passionate, high-quality care without compromise. We want everyone to know that they can receive some of the most advanced care available right here at home.
