Pregnancy can bring on more than just cravings and baby kicks โ€” it can also affect your gums. Hormonal shifts increase blood flow and alter how your body responds to plaque, making your gums more sensitive and prone to inflammation or bleeding. This condition, known as pregnancy gingivitis, affects up to 75% of expecting moms, according to the CDC. Gentle brushing, flossing, and regular dental checkups are essential for maintaining a healthy smile throughout your pregnancy. If you notice any unusual symptoms, come see us at Korwek Family Dental.

Did you know that munching on crisp fruits and veggies like apples and carrots can naturally clean your teeth? ๐ŸŽ

These crunchy treats act like nature's toothbrushes as you chew. Their firm texture helps scrub away plaque and food debris from your teeth, acting as a gentle cleanser between your dental visits.

So, next time you reach for a snack, consider adding some crisp fruits and veggies to your plate. Not only will you treat your taste buds, but you'll also be giving your teeth some extra love and care.

It's common advice to always brush your teeth right after eating. This is actually a myth! ๐Ÿ™…

It's better to wait a bit after eating acidic foods (like citrus fruits or soda). After eating acidic foods, your tooth enamel temporarily softens, and brushing right away can wear away this weakened enamel. It's best to rinse your mouth with water to help neutralize acids and freshen your breath. Wait 30 minutes before brushing your teeth.
