You are worthy by virtue of existing as a human being.

Another blow to our country's youth who need mental health services. I cannot express enough the sadness and concern I feel for at-risk youth under this administration.

Congress created the grants in the aftermath of the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. The goal was to help schools hire mental health professionals, including counselors and social workers.

I worked with six clients on the autism spectrum this week. One hundred percent of them are offended, outraged and alarmed by RFK's "Autism Registry". Imagine that.

Another inept and perilous proposal from the Secretary of HHS: "The federal government plans to eliminate services for LGBTQ youth who call 988, the national su***de and crisis hotline, according to a Health and Human Services budget draft leaked last week."

The service for LGBTQ youth has received 1.3 million calls, texts, or chats since 2022. In February, the program received an average of 2,100 contacts per day.

This is not only dangerous, it is life-threatening for at-risk youth and those in need of mental health services.

REMINDER: The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is responsible for PROTECTING the health of ALL Americans and providing essential HUMAN services. It manages programs like Medicare and Medicaid, advances medical research, and ensures food and drug safety. HHS also PROMOTES HEALTH EQUITY and provides social services, particularly for those who need assistance.

In February, the program received an average of 2,100 contacts per day.

As a licensed professional who has worked with people on the autism spectrum for over 20 years, it is mind-blowing to hear this kind of misinformation from the Secretary of HHS who is not a scientist, doctor, or researcher.

Science is real. Autism is not a conspiracy.
