Jake, Zach, and Jordan have all completed the additional certification training to be Advanced Functional Dry Needling Specialists. The Advanced certification allows all 3 of our experienced Physical Therapists to treat the entire body with an expert-level, research-based, targeted approach for your optimal recovery. They have the training to treat every part of the body, including: most muscles, peripheral nerves, tendons, scar tissue, rib cage, TMJ (jaw), and effect change in your nervous system. Physical Therapists must complete Level 1 and Level 2 certifications before becoming eligible for the Advanced Functional Dry Needling Specialist certification. Megan has completed her Level 1 certification as well.

Did you know that Jake was instrumental in getting South Dakota to legalize Physical Therapists performing Dry Needling in 2018? Research shows that dry needling is incredibly helpful for treating headaches, tension, TMJ (jaw pain), chronic pain management, and range of motion. It is very important to For Life Therapy that this be a treatment option in South Dakota. Almost all of our staff has experienced dry needling and highly recommends! Schedule an appointment today to see if Dry Needling may be an option for you!

The Murph is a CrossFit Hero workout for U.S. Navy SEAL Lt. Michael Murphy, who died heroically in the line of duty in Afghanistan on June 28, 2005. Since then, it has been a traditional Memorial Day workout (20 years strong!) in honor of Lt. Murphy and all who have given their life for our freedom. 🫡 We will be completing the Murph workout this weekend, will you join us?

As prescribed, it starts with a 1-mile run, followed by a 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, and 300 air squats, ending with another 1-mile run. The pull ups, push ups, and air squats can be partitioned out into a circuit (example: 10-20-30 x 10 rounds or 20-40-60 x 5 rounds) but the 1 mile runs must be completed in full at the start and end. The average length of time to complete the Murph for the average person is 45-60 minutes.

The Mini Murph, designed with beginner and intermediate athletes in mind follows the same guidelines but consists of:
⭐0.5 or 1 mile run
⭐50 pull ups or ring rows
⭐100 push ups or modified push ups
⭐150 air squats
⭐0.5 or 1 mile run

For Life Therapy wishes you a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend!

04/29/2026

The Multiple Procedure Payment Reduction (MPPR) policy was first implemented in 2011, cutting Medicare reimbursement to Physical Therapists significantly over the last 15 years. On top of the reduction that is applied to our payment, CMS Medicare has repeatedly issued additional cuts to our most common Physical Therapy codes (services) most years in the name of budget neutrality. These multiple year cuts are not balanced by the occasional small percentage increase. At the same time, they are requiring additional tasks (paper work), electronic medical software, and patient outcomes tracking that were not required prior to 2011. Other insurance companies have followed suit, causing more Physical Therapists to leave the insurance networks and switch to cash based clinics, ultimately limiting patient access to Physical Therapy in their area. Physical Therapists spend an average of one hour with a patient, one-on-one and deserve to be reimbursed fairly for their education, time, and quality of life services. Please contact your local Congress members to show your support for eliminating MPPR.
