In the DRC's Kwilu Province, a nurse who once feared inserting an IUD now confidently guides her entire team through the procedure. The difference? Clinical mentorship.

Through the PMNS-PF supported by SANRU & Pathfinder International:

✅ 96 mentors trained across 24 health zones
✅ 720 mentorship visits in 2025
✅ 1,107,477 women used modern family planning methods
✅ 99,763 women who received postpartum modern family planning services

Women’s economic inclusion is critical to a stable global future. As climate-driven disasters like floods and heat waves complicate maternal health and destroy infrastructure, we must prioritize sustainable livelihoods alongside health system strengthening.

In countries including Bangladesh, Pakistan, Egypt, Kenya, and Tanzania, Pathfinder International has supported women’s climate-resilient livelihoods — such as flood-adaptive agriculture, weaving and sewing enterprises, and sustainable fishing.

Incomes earned by the women we support are building healthier, more resilient communities, as women spend on healthcare, food security, and emergency savings.

We are proud to see continued coverage of initiatives in Kenya's Lake Victoria region that have drastically reduced abusive 'sex-for-fish' exchanges in the local fishing industry. Between 2021–2024, we worked with partners to put production directly into the hands of women in Homa Bay.

The Results:

- Economic Independence: Women’s groups now own their boats and nets, employing their own crews.

- Leadership: A 200% increase in women holding Beach Management leadership roles.

- Sustainability: Established protected breeding zones to restore fish stocks.

By removing economic barriers, we didn't just improve livelihoods—we tackled HIV risks and overfishing simultaneously.

In Jordan, we have observed how traditional approaches to workforce development have struggled to keep pace with the rapidly changing world of work.
