Potential Client - Love this statement - "Never had a massage except my husband rubbing my back. I dont know if I will be comfortable being naked. Does it hurt?" (I googled massage, and it can be a little intimidating)
Consultation
Before your massage, I will ask you a series of questions about your medical history, current health conditions, and your goals for the session.
Confidentiality
I will keep all personal and medical information strictly confidential.
Privacy & Draping
You will be asked to undress to a level that feels comfortable for you. Throughout the session, a sheet will cover your body, except for the area being worked on. If at any point you feel uncomfortable, communicate with your therapist.
Massage Techniques
I will use various techniques tailored to the specific areas being treated and your overall treatment plan. Each technique serves a different therapeutic purpose, and you are welcome to ask for explanations.
Communication
Feel free to provide feedback regarding pressure, discomfort, or areas of focus. Open communication ensures the best possible experience.
Relaxation
During the session, focus on deep breathing and relaxation to maximize the benefits of your massage.
Self-Care & Aftercare
Once your massage is complete, I may offer aftercare recommendations to support your recovery and overall wellness.
Scheduling
If you wish to continue treatment, you have the option to schedule follow-up sessions.
Comfortable Attire
Avoid restrictive accessories such as necklaces, watches, and bracelets, which may interfere with your comfort during the massage.
Punctuality
Arriving on time ensures you receive your full session. If you need to complete a health history form, plan to arrive early to allow time for paperwork.
Professional Boundaries
Massage therapists are professionals who adhere to ethical standards. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
Speak Up
If you have any concerns, questions, or need clarification, don’t hesitate to ask.
****Realistic Expectations***
Massage therapy is not a one-time cure-all. While it can help alleviate pain, tension, and stress, chronic issues—such as poor posture developed over years—may require ongoing treatment and/or self-care.
