Earlier this month the La Crosse community came together for the Special Olympics Wisconsin Polar Plunge fundraising event. Seven Western Region clients joined fellow Special Olympic athletes in cheering on the participants plunging into the Mississippi River. The ice was a total of 16 inches thick this year! Staff member Ethan joined his dad in plunging for his very first time! Our very own Cindy was beyond brave and kicked off the event by reciting the Athlete Oath to all!

"Let me win. But if I cannot win let me be brave in the attempt."- Special Olympics Athlete Oath.
