Did you know that November is National Muscle Health month? 💪🏼
Getting daily exercise and having healthy, strong muscles does more for our kids than you might think.
Exercise:
-works as well as medication when treating depression
-prevents diabetes
-improves sleep problems
-prevents colds and flus by boosting your immune system
-decreases the risk of colon cancer
-the list goes on and on!
However, kids are becoming more and more sedentary every year. Did you know the minimum amount of exercise recommended for kids ages 6-17 years is 60 minutes a day, including 2-3 days of resistance training? Examples of resistance training include lifting weights, gymnastics, and bodyweight squats/pushups/sit ups.
The colder months can be hard, but exercise is as vital in the winter as it is in the summer. Let’s get moving!
