Institute for Health and Recovery The Institute for Health and Recovery (IHR) is a statewide service, research, policy and program development agency. IHR’s primary funding sources are Mass.

The Institute for Health and Recovery (IHR) is a statewide, nonprofit organization incorporated in 1990 to provide services, policy and program development, research and capacity-building activities. IHR provides training, consultation, technical assistance and curriculum development for state, local and national organizations to improve integration of best practices and policies into prevention and treatment programs. IHR is certified by Massachusetts’ Supplier Diversity Office as a women-operated agency, and employs 70+ staff, plus interns and research/evaluation consultants. At least 30 percent of IHR staff are in recovery from substance use, mental health or trauma, and/or living with HIV/AIDS. Department of Public Health, Bureau of Substance Abuse Services (BSAS); Mass. Department of Children and Families; MassHealth; and federal partners SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) and Administration of Children, Youth and Families. IHR’s main administrative offices and a licensed, CARF-accredited behavioral health clinic are in Cambridge, Mass. Other licensed clinic sites are in Lowell, Boston, and Fall River, and soon to be Springfield, MA. IHR has additional offices in Roxbury and Brockton and also works in homes, communities, and other organizational settings across the state. IHR has been acknowledged as a Center for Substance Abuse Treatment Exemplary Program for Homeless Addictions Treatment; a Pregnant and Parenting Women and Infants Promising Practice and has received numerous awards, including a SAMHSA Science and Service Award. IHR was named a Boston Globe Top Place to Work in 2013 and 2014.

We are THRILLED for our very own Latisha Goullaud who was honored last night as the Boston Celtics Hero Among Us!!

Not only is she IHR's Lead Perinatal Recovery Coach for our Moms Do Care program, but she also serves as a Peer Recovery Coach for Lynn Community Health Center, AND as faculty at Tufts University School of Medicine, teaching 1st and 3rd yr med students about trauma-informed care.

"The road of recovery comes with a number of challenges; the route changes or there are bumps along the way. We are grateful for partners like IHR and Care Coordinators like Liz who advocate and celebrate ATR participants through the process. “We all go through challenges in life, so I always let them know to keep their heads up.
