Gallant Funeral Home is a family-owned funeral home who is currently seeking compassionate and responsible people to assist with transferring decedents from the place of death.
This position would be a perfect position for those who are retired and/or have a background as a first responder or people who are considering entering the funeral service field. The qualified candidates will possess a passion for helping others, incredibly high ethical and moral standards, compassion, excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, professional behavior and appearance, empathy, and the ability to lift a reasonable amount of weight. Due to the nature of our business, these positions require the candidate to have professional attire, live within a 30-minute radius of our location, have a clean and neat appearance, and to assist with transfers of decedents. The position will be considered an on-call position. Calls can come in anytime of the day/night on weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the removal of the decedent from the place of death.
- Driving and caring for company vehicles.
- Assisting a Funeral Director with visiting hours and services.
- Assisting in setting up and taking down equipment for services.
Candidates must:
- Be able to lift a reasonable amount of weight.
- Have a flexible schedule.
- Have a cell phone or way to be contacted.
- Have a neat and clean appearance.
A clean driving record is required. Applicants will be required to attain the appropriate state licensure upon hire which would be subject to a background check. The work we do is incredibly rewarding work. We are assisting families at the absolute worst time of their lives, and they are entrusting their loved ones to us. While it may be demanding at times, our team has a huge sense of pride for what we do. We invite you to consider joining our team!

Today’s visitation for Frances Fay has been rescheduled until tomorrow, December 20 from 11-1 and 4-6. Her service will be held on Thursday at noon.
