Mrs. Renee is home from the hospital and doing well! Please continue to pray for her recovery. She needs lots of rest and time to heal and gain her strength back. Thank you for all the prayers!! Please also continue to keep her donor and his family in your prayers as he continues to recover as well. We are all incredibly thankful. 🤍

Update: Mrs. Renee is awake and the Dr is very happy with how everything went! The donor kidney is working already and she is resting and already praising Jesus from her hospital bed. Her amazing donor is doing well and recovering just a few doors down from her, so we get to thank him and see him as well. A HUGE thank you to every single person who prayed, sent well wishes, and has followed us on this journey. Please continue to pray for a good recovery for Mrs. Renee and her amazing donor. As we have through this entire journey, we give honor and praise to the Ultimate Healer and Great Physician.

It’s TRANSPLANT DAY!!! Please help us storm the gates of Heaven with prayers for a successful surgery, for the entire transplant team, for Mrs. Renee to get through the surgery safely, for no complications, and for her recovery. Please also keep her living donor and his family in your prayers today, as he undergoes a life giving surgery. We are so, so thankful to him and his family!! Finally, please keep our entire family in your prayers, from those of us who will be at the hospital, to the grandkids who adore their Nana and will be in school anxiously awaiting word of a successful surgery. The magnitude of this day, how God’s hand was in all of it, and the gift Mrs. Renee is receiving today is overwhelming. We are all incredibly thankful.

UPDATE: We are *so* thankful for everyone who has prayed, gotten tested to see if they were a match, etc. We have a HUGE praise report…we have a wonderful living donor and Mrs. Renee will be getting her kidney transplant in the next couple of weeks!!!! There are no words for how thankful we are to her donor for giving our beloved wife, mother, mother in law, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend this precious gift. Please join us in prayer for the doctors and nurses who will be involved, for her donor to have an easy surgery and recovery, for a successful transplant, and for Mrs. Renee to be restored for full health. As always, we are thankful for Jesus, who hears our cries and prayers and who answers. 🤍

It’s easy to do the initial donor screen! It’s all online and you answer questions to find out if you’re an eligible donor. If you are, the next steps are presented to you via email. Thanks to anyone who has already gone through the process! Names are kept confidential by Emory and we do not know (unless you choose to share it with us) who gets screened. Thank you in advance. We are believing God for the right donor to come forward!

Did you know...
While people have two kidneys, only one is required for a normal, healthy life. Anyone over the age of 18 can donate, as long as they meet the criteria set forth by the Emory Transplant Center. The first step for a potential donor is to visit emory.donorscreen.org to complete the living donor screening questionnaire. If you are eligible, the next step involves some lab work. Renee's blood type is O+, but there is a paired exchange program that allows you to donate even if you are not a specific match for Renee. All medical procedures are covered by Renee's insurance, so there is no financial burden on the donor. If you have any questions at all, please reach out! If you decide to do the donor screening, we'd love to hear from you. There will be instructions on how to designate that you're moving forward on Renee's behalf. Renee Neely is a loving and dedicated Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. Due to Hypertensive Nephrosclerosis, she is in need of a Kidney Donation from a living donor. This may come as a surprise to many, as Renee has always been a private person. She has always loved giving, whether it's her love, her time, her talents, or through donations to the many charities that she holds close to her heart. Her devotion and servant's heart for Jesus are the most important things in her life, followed closely by her love and devotion to her kids, their spouses, and her grandkids. Now, she finds herself in the position of needing something so big, so life-giving, and so important, that she must open her life up to the world in hopes of finding someone willing to gift her a kidney. Renee still has so much life left to live. A kidney donation from a living donor is her best chance to continue sharing her life with her friends and family, who she means the world to. Renee has been accepted into the Emory Kidney Transplant list. More will be posted soon about how to start the process if you are interested in seeing if you are a match for Renee. Right now, we ask that you pray for the right living donor to come forward, and that you ask God if this is something you feel called to do.
