🧘‍♀️ Happy National Relaxation Day!

Some of our most relaxing moments can come from sound. The sound of waves, birds singing, or even the gentle rustle of trees. Sound helps us slow down, breathe deeper, and find a sense of calm.

When hearing changes it can become harder to stay connected to the sounds that bring us peace.

That is why we are here. If you feel like you aren't enjoying sounds you once did, call us to schedule a hearing test today.

“I live alone, so I don’t really need to hear much.”

When you’re enjoying quiet time at home, maybe reading the newspaper or watching TV, it might feel easier to tune out the world. But think about this:

🔊 What if your water heater starts making strange noises?
🔊 What if your smoke detector goes off?
🔊 What if someone is knocking at your front door?

Hearing isn’t just about conversations, it’s about safety and staying connected to your environment. Untreated hearing loss is also linked to cognitive decline, and increasing the likelihood of isolation and depression.

Protect your safety, brain health, and overall well being by scheduling a hearing test today!

Did you catch every toast, every laugh, every story from the backseat this summer?

Or were you nodding along and hoping you got it right?

Summer is full of get togethers, graduations, vacations, weddings, birthdays, and more. It is a time for memories and fun. But untreated hearing loss doesn’t just show up in the clinic. It shows up in the missed punchlines, the quiet “never mind” from loved ones, and the moments you wish you could’ve been more present for.

If this summer left you feeling a little disconnected, it might be time to check in on your hearing.

As C.S. Lewis said, “It’s funny how day by day nothing changes, but when you look back, everything is different.”

This quote perfectly reflects the experience many people have with hearing loss. Often hearing loss happens slowly. Over time, our brains compensate for the loss of sound by filling in gaps, making it even harder to recognize that anything has changed.

Because of this gradual shift, many individuals don’t realize their hearing has declined until it begins to affect their communication, relationships, or quality of life.

Regular hearing tests help track even small changes in your hearing and allow for early interventions. Whether that is protective measures, hearing aids, or lifestyle adjustments, staying proactive ensures you maintain your hearing health.

Whether you’re starting undergrad, diving into a grad program, or even teaching a class, a new school year means new routines, new environments, and new hearing needs.

If you use hearing aids or assistive technology, here are a few tips to help you this school year:
🔌 Charge up & back up. Keep extra batteries or a charger in your bag. You never know when a lecture might go long!
📱 Use your hearing aid app. Adjust settings on the fly for noisy classrooms, labs, or busy student centers.
🗣️ Take advantage of campus accessibility services. Remote mics, captioning, and preferred seating. All these accommodations are there to support your success!
🎧 Consider additional tools. Bluetooth accessories and streaming devices can make a huge difference for lectures or study time.

✏️ Heading back to class should be exciting, not stressful. If you’re unsure how to make your hearing tech school-ready, we are here to help.
