Helping your child manage stress can set the tone for a healthier, more successful school year. While some stress can be helpful—like boosting motivation or rising to a challenge—chronic or toxic stress can take a toll over time, affecting both physical and mental health. Things like anxiety, low immunity, and even long-term health issues can stem from unmanaged stress.

If your child is feeling overwhelmed, try a calming activity together to help them feel supported and not alone. Learn more at Child Guidance Program (oklahoma.gov)

Helping kids build confidence at the start of a new school year is key. Self-esteem—how a child sees and values themselves—can be shaped by many parts of their life. When kids and teens feel good about who they are, they’re more likely to succeed in school, feel secure and accepted, and be open to trying new things. Learn more at Child Guidance Program (oklahoma.gov).

Even on the sunniest days, lakes can have hidden risks. Monitor for bacteria, algae, and blue-green algae (cyanobacteria). These blooms can cause a variety of symptoms if touched or swallowed. What looks like the perfect swim spot might not be safe.

Check local advisories at travelok.com/state-parks/lake-conditions before anyone gets in the water. It helps keeps everyone safe—and keeps the fun going all summer long!
