Folate is an important B vitamin that helps the body make new cells every day. Even if you are not currently planning on getting pregnant, it benefits your heart, skin, hair, and nails.

Folic acid, a form of folate, also prevents birth defects. The recommended daily amount of folate is 400 micrograms (mcg). People who are planning pregnancy or could become pregnant should get 400 mcg of folic acid a day. Not all pregnancies are planned, so be prepared!

To learn more about the benefits of folic acid with pregnancy, visit https://brnw.ch/21wYSjZ.
