Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Support Services exists to improve the quality of life for children with cancer and support their families in the challenges they face.

Our service areas are Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Benito, and South Santa Clara County. Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Support Services exists to improve the quality of life for children with cancer and support their families in th

We provide family-centered care that addresses the emotional, practical and financial struggles for families of children and teens during treatment, families experiencing anticipatory grief and those who are bereaved. We envision a community where every child with a serious or life-threatening condition has a strong, supported and informed family empowered to fully participate in their care.

What a fun week it has been at our Family Center! 💖

From swinging around, playing dress-up in Caroline’s closet, arts and crafts, an intense game of tag, and so much more, everyday was filled with fun. ✨We are so glad to have captured these sweet memories at our Family Center. We can’t wait to show you all more soon! 💞

The summer is flying by and we are getting ready for the new school year! 📚

Wishlists have been started for all the back-to-school essentials, join us in getting our kiddos ready for success this fall! These items are things that will help relieve a bit of the burden that this time of year can put on parents. We want to make sure that if families can’t afford these items, they still have access to things like new backpacks or notebooks. ✏️ 🍎

Did you know that our Camp Heart + Hands weekend is not only beneficial for our kiddos but parents as well? 🌟

As a parent, you become a caretaker when your child is going through cancer treatment. Parents have to help administer chemo, give them medication, be there for their child when they are feeling sick, and so much more. We know the toll this can take on parents and that is why we make sure they get some time to relax during Camp. One of the ways we do that is to provide massages for all of the parents! 💗💆

Exciting News! 🎉

As of this week, we are fully expanded in Santa Clara County and ready to wrap more families in love. This means that families that have been waiting for a Jacob’s Heart will now receive the crucial services to help relieve some of the burdens that come with pediatric cancer. We are thankful for the community that has supported us and allowed us to finally reach more families. 💗

No family should have to walk this path alone, we are grateful to be by their side as they face the unimaginable. 🎗️💓

Summer sun and Boardwalk fun! ☀️🍉

In June, our teens took a field trip to Santa Cruz to enjoy a day at the Boardwalk. They all got to take turns riding all the rides, playing fun games, and spending quality time with each other and our staff! ✨ It is always fun to get outside of the Family Center and enjoy the beautiful ocean views and rides that the Boardwalk has to offer. We're so glad we can provide opportunities like this for our amazing Jacob’s Heart teens!🧡

We want to thank the Santa Cruz Seaside Company for donating the wristbands for our teen group so we could put on this outing. Because of your support, our teens were able to have a fun-filled afternoon with friends! ☀️

Our excitement only grows as the days get closer to Camp Heart + Hands 2025! ☀️

For many kiddos, this will be their first summer camp experience. By donating to send a kiddo to Camp, you are helping create new memories that might have been missed due to cancer treatment. Our kids and their families get to participate in fun arts + crafts, face painting, petting zoos, pony rides, pool + ice cream parties, and so much more. 🌈 This special weekend allows children the opportunity to simply be kids, while allowing parents to rest and recharge. Summer sun and BBQ fun! ☀️🧡

We had a fantastic time on Sunday, gathering with our families to enjoy some time outside. While there were many activities like face painting, games, bubbles, zumba, and so much more, the bounce house was a hit for all of the kiddos! 🌟 We’re so grateful to create magical moments like this, where kids can just be kids, and families can simply soak it all in. 🌈

Huge thank you to the Cabrillo Host Lions, San Martin Lions, and Milpitas Executive Lions for showing up in every way, from generous donations to grilling up delicious barbecue for our families. Your support made the day unforgettable! Another thank you to Catalina Vargas for putting on such a fun zumba class, our families had a great time getting their dance on! We are grateful for everyone who supported us and helped make this day so much fun for our families. 🧡

Summer is here and Camp Heart + Hands is BACK! ☀️🍓

Camp is one of the best weekends of the year, and we are getting excited for our families to dive into a World of Wonders! In exactly one month, families will arriving to Missions Springs to kick off an amazing weekend doing all the summer camp activities. From pony rides and pool parties to relaxing massages and joyful dance nights, Camp Heart + Hands offers something magical for every member of the family. ✨

But we can’t put on this fun weekend without your support. With your help, we can:

Carla is back! 💗

At the beginning of the month, we celebrated with her as she rang the bell signifying she was done with her treatment after a year long fight with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis. Carla and her family have been a part of our Jacob’s Heart family for over a year now, we are excited to share more of her story with you all. 💕🌟

Last week, some of our team members got to go to Washington DC to attend the 2025 Coalition Against Childhood Cancer Summit! 💛

This summit was a great opportunity to meet with other organizations and leaders who are fighting for families facing pediatric cancer. Our team got to learn more about how crucial advocacy is in the pediatric cancer world and where exactly Jacob’s Heart might fit in. The statistics for pediatric cancer are not just numbers, they are real families that need their voice to be heard. 🎗️ We are excited to have learned just a little bit more about how we can advocate and support our families in order to make a bigger difference. 🌟💗

Giddy up! 🏇 Some of our Jacob’s Heart cowboys and cowgirls kicked off summer with a magical week at horse camp! 🤠

This past week, a few kiddos and their families got to go to Winnie’s Mini Camp to spend their mornings learning all about horses! From learning how to lead a horse to how to properly groom them, they all got to get their fill of pony magic. 🐴 ✨

Kiddos also got to hangout with Winnie the dog, the camp mascot. Winnie has cancer and on the second day, the kiddos got to give her advice on how to feel better as she goes through treatment (swipe to see their advice). We love being able to see their point of view on treatment and how they know they can make themselves feel better as they battle cancer. 💖

Thank you to DreamPower Horsemanship for putting on this fun camp for kiddos with cancer and giving them the space to just be kids. We are so happy some of our families got to be included in the horsey fun! 🐴 💗
