Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Support Services exists to improve the quality of life for children with cancer and support their families in the challenges they face.

Our service areas are Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Benito, and South Santa Clara County. Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Support Services exists to improve the quality of life for children with cancer and support their families in the challenges they face. We provide family-centered care that addresses the emotional, practical and financial struggles for families of children and teens during treatment, families experiencing anticipatory grief and those who are bereaved. We envision a community where every child with a serious or life-threatening condition has a strong, supported and informed family empowered to fully participate in their care.

As Jacob’s Heart continues to grow, we are always reminded why this work matters. 💛

Today, we serve nearly 430 families, including 12 new families from Santa Clara County who are now receiving vital support, love, and care during the hardest times of their lives. These families are a part of our communities who are walking a path no one should ever have to go down. 🎗️

This month, and every month, we stand with children and families facing the unimaginable. Thank you for continuing to uplift and support families, especially during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. 🌟

Throwback to another amazing year of Camp Heart + Hands! 🌈

We are so excited to share all the amazing memories that were made as pictures from this year’s Camp start to come in. Camp Heart + Hands is such a highlight for families and we are grateful to be able to put this Camp on every year! 💖

All of these kiddos are why we Go Gold in September and continue to raise awareness during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month! ✨ Gold represents strength, courage, and hope, and when we wear it, we send a message to the world that no child or family should ever face cancer alone. No family should have to hear those words which is exactly why September is such an important month! 💛

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, a whole month dedicated to bringing awareness to the one disease that affects so many families around the world. While childhood cancer should be talked about every single day, this is a special time to advocate even harder and make our voices even louder. ✨

During this month, our Jacob’s Heart staff and board members will be going into cities in our service areas to accept proclamations declaring September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. We are especially excited to be accepting proclamations in our new zipcodes in Santa Clara County, further spreading the awareness of childhood cancer and the work we do at Jacob’s Heart.

This September, we invite you to Go Gold with us in honor of every child affected by cancer — those in the fight, those in remission, and those we have lost. 💛🎗️

Our kiddos and families had a blast channeling their super-you at our latest superhero themed Art From The Heart! 🦸

From crafting shields, masks, wrist shields, and more, everyone got to create what makes them feel like a superhero. ❤️All of our kiddos and their families who are fighting cancer are superheros in our eyes, we are so glad that they were able to channel that feeling into different arts and crafts! 🌟❣️

As we get closer, we can’t help but get excited to spend a beautiful day on the green at Seascape Golf Club. We are ready for a day of fun, amazing golf, and making a difference for our kiddos. We are still reminiscing on the magical weekend of wonders we had at Camp Heart + Hands! 🌈 ✨

We walked away from this weekend with even more amazing memories made with our families! Kiddos got to make new friends while playing in the bounce houses or doing arts & crafts, while parents connected under the beautiful redwoods at Mission Springs.🌲 We are so happy to put on a beautiful weekend like Camp Heart + Hands for families so they can take some time to relax and have fun together. ⛺🧡 Thank you to everyone who donated to our campaign for Camp. YOU made this weekend possible and helped our families have an unforgettable time! 🌟

Thank you to all of the nurses and doctors who helped volunteer their time to be our Camp counselors, you helped make the weekend so fun for families! Thank you to all of our volunteers who helped with everything in between to make the weekend run smoothly. ❤️

It is almost Par-Tee time! 🌟

Not a golfer but still want to be part of the fun on September 12th? Join us after the tournament for our Golden Par-Tee, an evening open to everyone! Enjoy delicious food, beer and wine, lawn games, and great company, all while supporting families battling pediatric cancer. It’s the perfect way to end the day, no golf skills required. ⛳ 🩵

The excitement is building because we are only a day away from this year's Camp Heart + Hands! ☀️

Tomorrow, all the fun summer camp activities will begin. We can’t wait to see kiddos ride a pony for the very first time, make new friends on the dance floor, bounce around in the bounce houses, and splash the day away at the pool party! ✨ Most of all, we can’t wait to see the meaningful connections formed as families bond with others who might understand their journey. 🧡

These items are things that will help relieve a bit of the burden that this time of year can put on parents. Did you know that our Camp Heart + Hands weekend is not only beneficial for our kiddos but parents as well? 🌟

As a parent, you become a caretaker when your child is going through cancer treatment. Parents have to help administer chemo, give them medication, be there for their child when they are feeling sick, and so much more. We know the toll this can take on parents and that is why we make sure they get some time to relax during Camp. One of the ways we do that is to provide massages for all of the parents! 💗💆
