I’m excited to share that I’ve been accepted into the Global Implementation Acupuncture Cancer Therapy Program conducted by the Society for Acupuncture Research.
Many people associate acupuncture primarily with musculoskeletal concerns, and while that’s something I frequently treat in the clinic, it represents only a small portion of what can acupuncture support.
To be clear, acupuncture does not treat cancer itself. However, it can play a valuable role in helping manage symptoms people may experience while undergoing cancer treatment such as: pain, nausea, fatigue, peripheral neuropathy (numbness and tingling), hot flashes, dry mouth, anxiety, insomnia, and digestive issues.
Disclaimer: Acupuncture is not a replacement for conventional medical care, but an evidence-informed complementary therapy used to support patients during treatment.
I look forward to being able to help our community further.
With your well-being in mind,
Dr. Maria Trujillo AP, DOM
