A HUGE thank you from all of us at Alpha Honey Farms LLC! 🐝🍯

Honey bees and other pollinators are in trouble—and they need our help.
Pesticides, habitat loss, and climate change are leading to massive die-offs. But small actions can make a big impact.

Here’s what you can do:

Plant pollinator-friendly flowers

Avoid pesticides and herbicides

Let part of your yard grow wild

Buy local, chemical-free honey and beeswax products

Share this message and raise awareness

Protect the pollinators. Protect the planet. Every action counts.

We came home Sunday night but WOW did we need some down time! We’ve decompressed. We’ve slept. We’ve rehydrated. (Okay, we’re still rehydrating…)

After two absolutely wild and wonderful weekends at the Iowa Renaissance Festival, we just want to say one BIG thing:

THANK YOU.

To every single person who stopped by our booth…
To the customers who supported Alpha Honey Farm with their kind words, purchases, and stories…
To the fellow vendors who welcomed us into this magical little world we’d never experienced before…
To the incredible performers we are thrilled to have met and now call friends
To all the behind-the-scenes rockstars and promoters who keep these festivals running like clockwork…

THANK YOU.

This was our very first Renaissance Festival—and we were blown away.
The energy, the creativity, the community—it was everything we didn’t know we needed. And more.

We met new friends (some hilarious, some brilliant, some downright fascinating), saw things we’ve never seen before, and had conversations we’ll remember for a long, long time. This experience didn’t just fill our calendar. It filled our hearts.

Of course, we love making the honey.
We love pouring the candles.
We love creating natural lotions that people truly love using.

But the best part of all of this?
It’s YOU.
The people. The connection. The laughter. The stories.
That’s why we do what we do.

We can’t wait to come back, maybe this fall, definitely next spring and we’re walking away from this first Ren Faire adventure feeling inspired, grateful, and more excited than ever about the road ahead.

Until next time… stay sweet 🐝
And from all of us at Alpha Honey Farm: thank you for being part of the journey.

BIG BEE NEWS 🐝

This Sunday, we pick up our brand-new bees—and we are SO ready for this fresh start.

Over the winter, we lost every single hive. And if you're a beekeeper or you follow the bee world at all, you know... this winter was BRUTAL. Across the country, an estimated 40–50% of managed colonies didn’t make it. That's nearly HALF. Between the freezing temps, fluctuating weather, and ongoing threats like mites and disease, and CHEMICALS overwintering bees is no small feat.

But here’s the thing about beekeepers: we don’t quit.

We’ve waited patiently for the nucs to be ready—and now they are! And this year, we’re doing something new… we’re going with the Russian bees. These bees are known for being hardy, mite-resistant, and better adapted for cold climates. Fingers crossed they’ll thrive through next winter like champs.

We’re HOPING to go LIVE on Sunday as we install the new bees into their hives. It’s always a wild and beautiful process—and we want to share the magic with you. If we cannot go live, we will certainly post videos and pics.

So, if you’ve ever been curious about beekeeping, about resilience, about how much these little creatures do for our planet—this is your moment to watch it happen.

Stay tuned for updates. We’re buzzing with hope and gratitude.

Many beekeepers showed up to rescue the hives and set everything to rights but WOWZA!!!

A buzzworthy story is unfolding in Whatcom County, Washington, where 250 million bees have escaped after a semi-truck carrying numerous hives lost part of its load. https://bit.ly/3HgGmhz
