Here's a fun fact about your spine:

Your height changes throughout the day due to your spine and your discs! Due to gravity compressing the discs during upright activities, you can "shrink" by up to an inch by evening. Overnight, while lying down, the discs rehydrate and expand, making you taller first thing in the morning.

From a clinic standpoint, when the disc is fully hydrated, it can lead to a high level of stiffness and soreness if there is a bulge in the disc. This is a very common symptom with people suffering from disc herniations or bulges in their lower back when they're first getting out of bed in the morning.

Many of you have felt the "pop" or "crack" while getting adjusted. But what is actually happening in your body when that happens? It's actually a small gas bubble that escapes from the joint and creates the loud "pop" similar to a bubble bursting. It's not needed to have an effective adjustment, but it's often a good reassurance that the adjustment went well, as there often has to be significant movement in the joint for the "pop" to occur.

Exciting News from the Office! 💙

As many of you may know, Dr. Lindstrom and his wife were expecting a new baby at the beginning of January. We are so happy to share that their handsome bundle of joy made his arrival on January 2nd! 🍼✨

Our office will continue to run as normal, with slightly shortened hours, so Dr. Lindstrom can spend this special time helping his wife and their two big brothers adjust to their new daily routine.
