This is a Repost from a community members..

The Superintendent of District 60 was very disrespectful tonight to members of the community. This TRASH thinks it’s a joke. Our district is failing. Our children Reading and Math scores are below average. Ratings of our district is a D.

She doesn’t have her PHD like she put on her application saying she will have it. The Board has reimbursed her for getting her PHD and she doesn’t have it. Tonight our Financial Director Ms Poke church Pastor has been hired by this district to do workshops 🤣🤣

Nepotism at its finest. The lawyer for the district law firm yes the law firm she was working for before becoming the district 60 attorney has been hired to investigate things within the district. Again Nepotism at its finest.

So Rita Mayfield PLEASE EXPLAIN to US the public WHY is this being allowed. As you see this BOARD is not DOING their job. The state took district 187 why isn’t the state looking at district 60. We are over paying this thing to run our district in the dirt.

I’m ANGRY and MAD as hell because y’all meaning the Politicians always talking about Data but we have shown the Data and the public sees it to and still nothing is being done. The Rap Around Center was not this lady idea and it’s been put off to the public as if it is. ..

Where are the community leaders that’s says they care so damn much about our youth. BLM. BAM. Legacy. And all the other entities and so called activists at? Ohhhhhh we only get involved when our pockets are greased.

This is beyond nuts that we are allowing this to happen. To all the politicians that’s on the Ballots, My Stern ADVICE to ALL is to STOP acting like you give a damn about our babies but are sitting by allowing this madness to happen. See y’all live in the morning

Thank you Shandal Diggs
How many students have this same experience?

Parents you have to be your children VOICE....
A little story at a young age I was diagnosed with dyslexia . Schools wanted to be put in special classes but my mom didn’t let them, I DID NOT let them .....

I remember coming home telling my mom I don’t belong in there with them kids and I’m not slow or have a disability. We had a meeting with the school and they put me in regular classes to try me out and GUESS WHAT?

I passed every damn year and NEVER looked back 💪🏾💪🏾-dyslexia doesn’t mean your slow , you just have to learn different and work two times harder then the average person! Never let anybody put a label on you !

I graduated HS, I graduated cosmetology school and I graduated medical assistant school on the TOP of my class & I was the graduated speaker 🔈. 💯

Lisa Shelton thank you for being my voice I LOVE YOU 😘❤️💕
This story will help somebody 🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️💯

I know some of you have kept up with our Too Young to Test bill, senate bill 3986

Rita Mayfield
is one of the key legislators we need to vote in favor of the bill. The bill limits testing of children from preschool-2nd grade.

Can you call/text/email Rita Mayfield and ask that she vote for the bill, or possibly cosponsor the bill if she's in favor of it?

Thanks so much

Hi - Waukegan Community

Waukegan parents be your child or children advocate! Don't continue to allow anyone to keep shackles on your child or children from moving forward to receive higher education opportunities within public schools here in the Waukegan School District 60.

The time is now for change to stop the bias testings all children do not have to be diagnosed or labeled with a false alarm diagnosis that later place minority African-American black and Hispanics brown Boys in alternative placement (Prison to pipeline systemic placement incarceration) because of lack of services funding, resource and programs towards Higher education opportunity they should be given equal as well as quality education resource and programs to be successful students as well as productive adults.

Let us use our voice to make a difference within our Waukegan community for the Next Generation, now is the right time for us all to work TOGETHER for all students to receive equal as well as quality and empathy curriculum lessons plans academics achievement with resource and programs.

Time for change

1) Smaller classroom
2) curriculum lessons plans to improve academics achievement gap
3) Hire minority African-American staff administrators as well as service team social workers as well as psychiatrists.

Just to name a few

Best Regards

Dawn Johnson

Meet Tyler: “Tyler has autism and has completed the two-year component of the University of Missouri-St. Louis SUCCEED Program, a post-secondary program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. After completing the program, students may earn a Chancellor’s Certificate. Tyler is now a student of SUCCEED Plus, an extension of the program.

‘Before SUCCEED, he was very dependent on us. The independence, the decision-making, the self-awareness was not there,’ his mother, Tonya Haynes, said. ‘I never dreamed of him living away.’

Tyler says: ‘My word is AMAZING. I selected this word, because I go to college. I have so many friends and participate in so many activities. I love to meet new people!’”

Nelson Mandela quotes about education:

“I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities.”

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

“The power of education extends beyond the development of skills we need for economic success. It can contribute to nation-building and reconciliation.”

Repost story

“See the thing is; my ROTC teacher told me I was gonna end up dead or in jail. I grew up without a father figure in my life. I wore most of the same clothes from middle till I graduated. We were on food stamps and lived in the hood. Those are circumstances that I did not let dictate my life. I did not become a product of my environment. Some of my friends called me stupid. Now look at me. I became aware that I control my destiny. I became aware that I could be the Man that I was intended to be. I became aware that there was only one branch that could build me into a Man. I became a Marine!”

Good morning
Words of encouragement for students to engage in trade opportunity that can be very important within the public schools, especially here within the Waukegan community the time is to Invest funding towards Higher education opportunity.

Ms. Imunique Triplett is the first student from Milwaukee Public Schools to graduate from the M-Cubed College Connections nursing program before finishing high school.
The nursing program allows Milwaukee public school students to enroll in the Milwaukee Area Technical College and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee classes for free, earning credit that will be applied to their high school and college academic careers if they choose the path into nursing, teaching and general education.
