The breastfeeding encouragement all pregnant moms need! 🤱

🎧 Tune in to episode 68 of Your Birth Bestie podcast to hear from this week's guest, Jackie from Latched Lake Country!

"Breastfeeding is a natural process that doesn't always come naturally. Follow your mama heart, it will never steer you wrong."

"Babies don't know the clock. They just know when they're hungry and their cues are all we can follow."

⭐️ These two statements alone are more support than I got with my first two breastfeeding journeys. I had no idea breastfeeding could be hard and troubleshooting was often necessary, and felt constantly anxious about tracking and timing feeds... I wish I would have found Jackie 4 years ago, but I didn't know where to turn for support!

➡️ Tune in to Your Birth Bestie this week to learn all about breastfeeding preparation during pregnancy! You won't regret it.

Don't even get me started... 🙈

I have seen so many posts in the mom and pregnancy groups I am in, about cervical checks being discouraging for moms early in their pregnancy... This leads to fear, worry, and feeling the need to do all of the "natural induction methods" to help move things along. These methods are not required at all! You have to decide what is best for you.

Here is an example of one of the many, many messages I respond to.

“I am 36+3 and my doctor checked my cervix and it’s still closed and not effaced at all. I know I’m only 36 weeks so there’s still time for it to change and my body to do what it needs to when the time is right it’s just a little discouraging. I’m really hoping I don’t need an induction. She said 41 weeks is the furthest she’ll let me go and at that point she will schedule an induction.”

🚩🚩🚩 When I read this, I saw so many red flags that are examples of how women are being conditioned to think about birth. First, a cervical check at 36 weeks is unnecessary. Unless you’ve schedule an induction at that exact moment for medical reasons, why are we checking mom’s cervixes at 36 weeks...

🎧 Tune in to Episode 63 of Your Birth Bestie Podcast, as we explore natural methods to start labor, ensuring you’re informed and confident in your birth journey.

➡️ The bottom line... is that your body knows the optimal time for your baby to arrive. Trust birth!

🎙️ New podcast episode is LIVE!

Episode 62 this week is about... 'How to Tell if Your Water Broke or If It’s P*e, and What to Expect Next'.

"I don’t want for anyone’s initial reaction to be to panic and rush into the hospital right away, or even if you’re there and getting checked out in OB triage... you are not required to stay there either if you’re not ready to be. It’s case-by-case if that would be recommended, but confirming your water is broken and given everything else is going well, you can go back home with that extra information and have a plan on when to return, but labor at home if you want."

I was skeptical at first, but after reaching out to TBS Medical about their Mommy Care Kits and applying myself for this pregnancy and getting approved, I have partnered with them to help other women get their kits as well!

How I got approved:
1. Submitted 2-minute application. 💻
2. Received a follow-up email the next day that I was approved. 🎉
3. Scheduled a quick phone call to answer a few pregnancy questions.
4. Received my breast pump two days later.
5. Waiting for my other items next week... to be continued!

I have seen other companies helping moms get their breast pumps covered by insurance, but not other pregnancy and postpartum support items. I think this is a great opportunity, with many great items I was planning to purchase anyway!

➡️ Click the link in my bio to apply and see if you qualify for a Mommy Care Kit. They are covered by most insurances! 🤞
