today is world cerebral palsy day and we use it to bring awareness to the most common lifelong motor disability.
when Navvi was 2 weeks old, we met with his PM&R doctor for the first time ever. at that appointment she told us that most likely down the road he would be given the label of Cerebral Palsy.
within the first year of his life, he was then given the true diagnosis: Left Hemiplegic Cerebral Palsy due to Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy
currently CP presents in Navvi mainly in his left arm & hand. he has no fine motor ability and struggles to use the arm/hand in many ways. every week he goes to OT & PT to work on his strength and ability in general with an emphasis on his left side. he has made HUGE progress and we are so proud of him every single day.
