Just so you know, and you may already know this, lack of sleep or disrupted sleep, can add pounds to your body and also dysregulate your immune system as well as amplify hormonal imbalance. Why? you guessed it right - cortisol!!!! We want to keep this hormone down at normal levels, not increase its amount. Cortisol also reduces GLP-1 production - that peptide that regulates blood sugar as well as stimulates weight loss. Your own body produces plenty of it if you have a healthy gut, which is also dysregulated with lack of sleep.
