Trailways Counseling

Trailways Counseling We’re a passionate group of professionals that go the extra mile to provide counseling and mental health services that are customized for each individual.

Our clinicians are trauma-informed, person-centered in their approach and believe that recovery is possible. Currently, we are accepting referrals from individuals enrolled in their county’s CCS program or private pay. Our clinicians will see consumers age 4 and older. We provide outpatient therapy in southern and western Wisconsin and Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) in Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Jackson, La Crosse, Monroe and Sauk Counties. We currently accept TRICARE, Anthem, United Healthcare, WEA Trust, WPS, Medicaid and GHC Eau Claire. We also have private pay options. We have virtual and in-person appointments available.

As you and your teen prepare for going back to school 🏫, consider what actions you and your family 👪can take to protect their mental health 🧠. Reducing the time teens spend on social media 🤳can be difficult. It can be beneficial to provide and encourage interesting alternatives to scrolling. Be a role model whenever possible to show reduced 📉 phone use and participation in other activities.

🌿Self-Care Day at Upham Woods! 🌿

Tuesday, the Trailways Team came together for our second Self-Care Day — a chance to recharge, connect, and grow both personally and professionally.

We spent the day building camaraderie, expanding our skills, and diving into meaningful activities including:
✨ Intention setting
🧘‍♀️ Yoga
🧠 Education on OCD & ERP
🌿 A hands-on Recreational Therapy session
📜 Reflecting on our Mission & Core Values
🎲 And a unique workshop on using Dungeons & Dragons in a therapeutic setting!

Huge thanks to everyone who joined us. We hope your day was filled with laughter, insight, and community spirit. 💚

Trailways Counseling is sponsoring the purchase of copies of We Will Always Be Here by Jenny Kalvaitis and Kristen Whitson, published by the Wisconsin Historical Society Press. These books will be distributed to event attendees at Pride Night at Henry Vilas Zoo, in place of direct sales, ensuring free access for all participants. This sponsorship is especially meaningful as the book documents the vital contributions and resilience of LGBTQ+ people in Wisconsin history, providing an essential connection to identity, community, and pride.

Understanding LGBTQ+ history is closely tied to mental health and well-being, particularly for teens, as it fosters a sense of belonging, validates lived experiences, and combats isolation. By supporting this initiative, Trailways Counseling is helping to make critical resources accessible, contributing to a safer and more affirming environment for all attendees.
