Lifelong Resident of Ryan, Duncan and Marlow, Donald Ray Morgan was born August 2, 1935 in Oscar, Oklahoma to Otho Carrel (JP) and Louise Ryan Morgan and passed July 15, 2025 into the arms of Jesus 2 weeks short of his 90th Birthday. Arrangements have been made through Dudley Funeral Home, Waurika, Oklahoma. Visitation is from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Saturday, July 19th, 2025 at the Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan, Oklahoma. Graveside service will follow at the Ryan Cemetery, with Pastor Eric Bayer, First Baptist Ryan officiating.
Donald Ray married Cleta Joyce Hunt on November 6, 1954. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage at Cleta’s passing on October 30, 2015. To this marriage, 3 daughters were born; Donna, Cindy and Susan.
Don attended school in Oscar and Ryan. He was a graduate of Ryan High School where he was active in Football and FFA. Don worked in the Duncan area for many years and retired from Halliburton. He enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting deer and quail and frog gigging. Don’s Daughters have many special memories of the whole family singing hymns in the car on road trips, special birthday parties and anniversary dinners that always included all three girls. Don loved to talk and laugh and was a jokester. He never knew a stranger.
Don leaves behind his beloved Daughters, Donna and Son-in-Law Lynn Greer, Duncan, Oklahoma, Cindy Schoonover, Duncan, Oklahoma and Susan and Son-in-Law Richard Corcorran, Lubbock, Texas. Eight Grandchildren, Cory Greer (Gabrielle), Amy Greer, Angie Burge (Reagan), Josh Schoonover (Laura), Luke Schoonover (Lori), Rachelle Boyer (Aaron), Richard Corcorran III (Richelle) and Tori Apel (Brody). He is also survived by 19 Great Grandchildren, 2 Sister-in-Laws, Faynell Stone and Del Leta Ellis, along with a host of Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Donald Ray is preceded in death by his parents, wife Cleta Joyce and Son-in-Law Keith Schoonover. Brothers Troy Morgan and Carrel Morgan (Faye). Sister Martha (Mottie) Huber (Dennis). In-Laws Lawrence and Waunita Hunt, Brother-in-Laws Virgil Hunt, Raymond Hunt (Betty) and RV Stone.
Pall Bearers will be Grandsons and Great Grandsons.
