Help Central Wisconsin Breathe Easier
The Wausau Free Clinic serves patients across Central Wisconsin who struggle to afford life-saving asthma medications. Our patients live without insurance, face difficult financial situations, and access to inhalers can mean the difference between stable breathing and a medical emergency.
Every donated inhaler can help someone breathe easier and avoid emergency room visits.
Inhalers must be unopened and in original packaging;
Must not be expired;
Donations are redistributed legally through the Wisconsin Drug Repository Program;
A short donation form will need to be signed at drop-off
If you, your pharmacy, or your clinic have medications that could be donated, please reach out to learn how you can help support asthma patients in our community.

We are always looking for additional resources, support, and sponsorships.
Together, we can make sure no one has to struggle to breathe because they can’t afford their medication.
Our Mission: The Wausau Free Clinic, sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church, is committed to offering no-charge, quality primary care services to low income, uninsured individuals of Central Wisconsin, utilizing highly qualified volunteers.

As of last month, the Wausau Free Clinic had over 225 patient interactions. We have been off to a strong start in 2026! We couldn’t do any of this without the support of our team, partners, and community. Thank you to everyone who has helped us make our mission possible. Stay tuned for more updates!

Through the winter weather and holiday season, the Wausau Free Clinic ended 2025 with over 220 patient interactions in the month of December! Thank you to all of our volunteers, staff, and supporters. Stay tuned for a 2025 recap in the near future.

The Wausau Free Clinic announced that it has been awarded a grant from the Green Bay Packers Foundation as part of the Foundation’s annual grant cycle.

“The Packers do a lot for communities in Wisconsin. So, it was a great day to be honored as a recipient. We rely heavily on grants, in-kind services, and donations to support our clinic,” said Dr. Jeff Oswald, Medical Director, Wausau Free Clinic.

Just a reminder regarding the clinic’s holiday hours. We will not be open this Thursday and next Thursday, but Tuesdays will be regular hours this month.

Wausau Free Clinic Holiday Hours! We will be closed the last Thursday of December on Christmas and the first Thursday of January on New Year’s Day. We will have normal hours all other days.

Wausau Free Clinic staff are worried that changes to Affordable Care Act premium tax credits will bring a surge of patients, after people aren’t able to afford their health insurance coverage.
